best acted Voyager episode

I gotta go with "Drone." The actor who portrayed the drone was excellent, and Jeri Ryan really shines. You can feel the emotion when One is dying and refusing medical treatment.
"Please... you are hurting me."

I also have a special place for "Swarm", when the doctor starts to lose his memory. Picardo, you are an absolute genius.

"Imperfection." Especially the big sickbay debate scene. "Drone" is a very close second.

"Imperfection" is another excellent choice, showcasing more than "just" Mulgrew". Love the Engineering scene between Seven and B'Elanna as much as the Astrometrics scene between Janeway and Seven.

Not sure... but for the moment I'd say "Counterpoint".

Janeway/Mulgrew has me guessing to the very end.
It's a tossup between "Counterpoint" and the one where the Doctor and Seven shared her body - Jeri Ryan's portrayal of the Doctor was perfection! :bolian:

Yes, that one... where the doc shares Seven's body. Jeri Ryan nailed playing Bob Picardo. It was an amazingly well acted episode on Jeri's behalf.

^That's "Body and Soul" btw

My choice is "Lineage." Robert Duncan McNeil and Roxann Dawson gave their best performances of the series and the ending scene where Paris confronts her in sickbay was so well done.

Real Life
Latent Image
The Gift
Infinate Regress
Barge of the Dead
Faces
Dreadnaut

I don't think enough credit is given to Roxanne Dawson as an actress.
I like that she was amazing in every scene & situation they put her character in and never failed to deliver.
Even in the worst episodes, Be'Lanna scenes are worth every moment.

Oh yes - Someone to Watch Over Me was very good too.

exodus - agree regarding Roxanne Dawson. ...very underrated actress

I have never had a problem with any of the acting for the most part. I actually think voyager has the best actors over any of the other series. Some of season one was slightly rough around the edges... However I have found that the actors are just great... All of them.

I've always said Voyager is probably the best in terms of interesting characters and character interaction. The battles can be deus ex machina, but the writing and acting is usually very good.

I was never completely impressed by the acting on Voyager by Robert McNiel, Ethan Philips, Jen Lien or Robert Beltran. I never found any story that challenged them as actors to make them more emotionally impactful. I never felt sorry for Chakotay, Neelix or Tom for the situations their lives ended up in and I think we were supposed too. Mulgrew improved as the show continued but during the first few season she played the part as if she were still on "Ryan's Hope", kinda melodramatic IMO. I think that's why in later seasons the writers focused more on the stronger actors in the group, Mulgrew, Ryan, Picardo, Russ & Dawson. Too me, they carried the rest of the cast.

To me, everyone carried Garret Wang.

For me, Robert McNiel, Robert Beltram and Garret Wang were not convincing in their roles. There were a few episodes where Jen Lien (eg Warlord) could spread her wings a little and overall I found Ethan Phillips to be ok as Neelix. The others were all better actors, probably with Robert Picardo being the strongest.

It's hard to do the best overall acted Voyager episode, so I'll do it for each character:

Janeway: Counterpoint
Chakotay: Unity
Paris: 30 Days
Torres: Either Faces or Barge of the Dead
Kes: Before and After
The Doctor: Latent Image
Kim: Timeless (Also goes for Chakotay too)
Seven: Someone to Watch Over Me
Tuvok: Meld or Riddles
Neelix: Fair Trade (Any episode where he was Serious was a good one)

Overall acting from everyone? Probably Memorial since it included everyone, but it's hard to say.
