Doctor Who Proms 2010 Details Released!

I saw "Dance of the Daleks" written there and my dirty mind though of the dancing in the context it was used in in The Doctor Dances...

Maybe...just maybe we will finally get a soundtrack announcement after proms.

I doubt it. I don't think the Series 4 soundtrack was announced at all around the time of the last Proms.

Nice to see Song of Freedom included. One thing that was most certainly missing from the Series 5 score this year was a song. Hopefully Gold will make up for it with the Christmas special. (This might also be a reason why we haven't seen a soundtrack announcement - the last three releases had several songs on them: Song for Ten and Love Don't Roam in the first, The Stowaway in the second, and Song of Freedom in the third (and yes I know it's not an "English" song. Half of Enya's canon isn't either). There were no original songs in Series 5, so I'd be willing to bet they might wait for the Christmas special before releasing an album.

Anyway, back to the Proms. One thing I'll be curious to see is if Smith and Gillan appear in character. The preview seems to suggest they might. And remember the last Proms had Music of the Spheres, so they'd have to top that.

Gold tweeted a few days ago that we can expect an announcement soon on albums...how soon is soon? I guess we'll find out.

I'm curious....is "prom" short for a longer word? Does it mean something different from "concert"? Been wondering about that since I watched one of them on my DVD sets a while back.

HI, BBC Proms are eight week continuous concert presented at the Albert hall in South Kensington, London.check the details...

^ Lord, that man just has way too much fun in his job.

Oooh and is that a camera set-up I see in the second shot? Future tv broadcast then I hope.

Just finished listening to the proms and all the stuff with Matt and the kid was fantastic. The music was great. The arrangement of the Doctor Who theme was almost rock like. I can't wait for the soundtrack and yes the Proms is supposed to be broadcast on the BBC sometime next month.

I also really enjoyed the "Dance of the Daleks" intermission documentary they played about the history of Doctor Who music.

Is this somehow accessible to the US crowd or do I have to use alternative means to find out more about it and maybe listen to it?
