NBA Playoffs

Nobody outside of LA or Boston wants to see Celts-Lakers for the 48th time. YAWWWWWN! Fuck 'em both.
After seeing LeBron eliminated, David Stern has to be doing a marathon "Cabbage Patch" session at the prospect of a Lakers'/Celtics rematch. The NBA's nightmare would be an Orlando/Phoenix Finals. The absolute ratings winner is Kobe vs the Evil Ones.

What... you mean Kobe vs the rest of his team? That's innovative thinking that is.

It's like Pats-Colts. I love the Pats, so I am excited for this every year. No one else is.

Then you'll be happy to know that this time, their regular season game is finally back at Gilette. :)

Thinking of buying tickets for that one, though a bit difficult finding the opportunity to get over there from Vancouver. :)

Are the Magic going to even bother shoeing up for game 4? They sure didn't for game 3 ... and this was after a very good, competitive game 2. :vulcan:

I might sutbhub these if I have the extra cash hanging around. A short drive to Dedham and then pick up the weofully overcrowded and slow train that takes you right to the stadium.

Gillette is a real nice stadium if you ever get the chance to go. Good sight lines even from the upper deck. If you drive there, they have the Patriot place mall and the CBS Scene restaurant, so you can kill time before or after the game.

Back to the NBA, how can Orlando steamroll through the first two rounds of the playoffs and then get smoked by this geriatric batch of players? OH wait, Boston can actually play defense, and has a bunch of bigs they can throw at Howard to force him to launch bricks from the line.

Ugh. I will be so disinterested if its Boston-LA again. Can we get somebody new, please?

Boston also has the mentality that they can come back no matter what. Witness their destruction in Game 3 against Cleveland. They cam right back and did the same in return. The Lakers are similar, in that when everyone wondered what they had left in the tank... they just cinched it up and said, "Let's take care of business" and now have Los Suns on the brink. Say what you will about either team, but they both have proven that "Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill." =

Far be it from me to disagree with your most astute observations, but just for the record, the Lakers haven't clinched yet. The Celts, up 3-0 and at home, "have clinched".

Several franchises have come back after trailing 2-0 in a 7 game series. Ironically, the Lakers as a franchise are one of the ones that have lost a 7 game series after leading 2-0, and are one of the ones that has come back to win after trailing 2-0.

After watching Steve Nash rearrange his face after Fish head-butted him, I have to say the Suns have toughness. Maybe not to win, but to compete.

If Lopez and Stoudimire stay consistent and the bench finally shows up scoring wise, this could go 7.

As for the Magic and toughness? I heard Howard say something to the effect after game 3 that why should we hang our heads, we're playing the game we love.

Okay then, enjoy next regular season, Howard!

Trust me... I'm far more aware of that than you realize, having had all manner of experiences with teams I was rooting for blowing a biog lead. It's just that the way the playoffs have gone so far the Lakers and Celtics each seemed to have something their opponents lacked. Call it experience. Call it leadership. Call it heart. They were beating others teams that are just as talented.

Up until last night. Phoenix came back solidly and pulled out a good win. Orlando? Cleveland? Were you watching? That's how you do it.

That, and their defense was marginally effective in the last game in stopping the Lakers onslaught.
They'll need that for the next game or it'll be game, set, match...

The Suns' defensive adjustments were very effective. Phil will have to coach-em up today.

After two good games, Odom looked terrible out there, especially in the first half.

And what's with all the fouls?

:scream:

now THAT's the Orlando Magic we've been expecting to see this series! Intense effort, a little careless with the ball in the second half but still aggressive and not backing down.... at all!

The Phoenix bench looked VERY good. They brought the energy and intensity to make it exhausting for the Lakers.

Being the Lakers fan that you are, Digits .... do you think they took the Suns too lightly or is Phoenix really just about as good of a team?

That Lopez is insane.

And where's Kobe's help defense? I remember several plays where he barks at other players, when the replays show him standing there watching points being scored.
