I've actually thought about this a lot, partly for my fanfic and just for fun. Here's my ideas:

USS Katana - fast, hard hitting little warship

USS Mjolnir (name of Thor's hammer) - big, heavily armed and heavily shielded

The Katana would be an appropriate name for a Sabre class starship, and the Mjolnir for a Norway class starship.
