Steven Seagal Sued For Keeping Sex Slaves...

If that's true, than Steven Seagal is far creepier than I would have thought.

Her story seems a little fishy though. she's filing civil charges for what is basically sexual assault and rape, and waited several days before leaving. I'll wait for the response and some more details before I judge.

It said it was days before she could escape.

And I can see why a civil suit might be seen as more likely to be effective. Sad to say, it's hard to prove rape beyond a reasonable doubt. You can demonstrate that the sex was violent, but that doesn't necessarily prove it wasn't consensual. But the standard of proof in a civil case is lower, merely a preponderance of evidence. So it's easier to win a civil case.

Because after the ordeal that this woman describes, the first thing you do is jump into a taxi and head to a lawyers office.

There has been no report of her going to the police, no reporting of a police report being filed.

She jumped right to civil suit...

And, considering the number of people she says are complicit in this whole thing, I think that the conspiracy and aiding and abetting charges would be pretty hard to hide from the press, more so than a police report. More so because it involves a pretty well known actor.

It reeks of bullshit.

Stranger things have happened, and less bizarre things have been completely made up.

Sounds like the plot to a Seagal movie, except you need to have had a Seagal-like character bust in and break her loose.

Criminal trials don't always clear up the issue. OJ was clearly guilty of his crime but he was still let off the hook. His later brutish behavior was certainly proof that Simpson was nothing more than a violent thug and a stupid one at that. If LA hadn't burned in a race riot a couple of years prior I'm certain Simpson would be in a California prison at this time.

Did Steve Seagal do it? I dunno. I find it hard to see him as the anti-Hef. He's still famous enough that he shouldn't need sex slaves if he wants a little pussy. I'm certainly interested enough to follow the case casually. It's the weirdest story to come out of Hollywood in a while.

Anyone who'd believe this shit would believe that Tiger Woods would run around on his hot blonde wife with an endless number of women, including porn actresses, without every gossip rag in the world making it front page news for the last couple of years.

Saw this earlier, this is completely crazy. I used to laugh at Seagal since he's a walking joke, but this definitely makes takes it into much more sinister territory. He's also a member of the police as we all learned in Lawman.

Gonna lose that job...

And all I can say is....

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...... Wow.......

I mean, yeah, I know, it's terrible. But I can't stop laughing about it..... Now the walking joke has elements of dark humor.

.

Well, he's in a Nevada prison right now; at least that's something.

If true-sick, sick, sick. He should be put away. If made up-she should be open to criminal charges and/or slander.

Criminal trials are all we have. Civil courts don't have the same emphasis and are incapable of determining true guilt or innocence.

Whether you or I think OJ got away with anything, it is still up to the accuser to prove guilt. If we lose that then anybody can be charged with anything and it will be left to them to prove that they didn't do it.

Nguyen's lawsuit said she could identify a "unique physiological reaction" that Seagal has to sexual arousal, which could be corroborated by the other "attendants." The suit did not specify what that reaction is.

I have to say, sordid as this is, this has my curiosity picqued.

Regardless of the putative effects of the Rodney King case, the Simpson prosecution screwed the pooch. I think he's guilty as hell, but if what was reported about the trial as it went on at the time and since is reasonably accurate, I'd have had to vote to acquit him based on the evidence presented and the standard of "reasonable doubt."

Apparently many of those who know Seagal are anything but shocked by this turn of events.

And this morning, this:

...Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand, whose swearing-in ceremony was featured on an episode of the show, just gave a press conference inviting the woman suing Seagal in civil court to file criminal charges against him as well, saying he did not want her to think that Seagal would be given preferential treatment because of his relatonship with the sheriff's office and his fame.

Filming on Seagal's reality show has been suspended.

That's the important part here, it should be up to a criminal prosecutor to prove that a person committed the crime he or she is accused of.

Suing somebody over a criminal matter before any criminal charges have been filed is just an admission that your case will not hold up to the kind of scrutiny a criminal trial would bring.
