So is Tess a good guy or a bad guy now?

We never really know with her, she isn't as bad as Lex, but she isn't a saint. At least she hasn't told anyone about Clark, she did seem sincere in protecting him. But she definitely has her own agenda. Not someone I'd trust.

I wish they had different sound effects for Martian Manhunter, he shouldn't sound like Clark or a Kryptonian

I missed the episodes after Clark destroyed those two towers, but I was wondering as any of his friends commented about the loss of life he caused over this. I mean it would be significant.

Or were we supposed to believe that Clark could destroy to very large buildings and that no one (security, janitorial, people on the street, people in nearby buildings, people working night shifts) weren't killed by the collapse of millions of tons of debris. Not to mention the long range health problems for people who would be breathing the particles of debris (I mean seriously it hasn't been that long since the towers fell).

Shit, I don't know whether to vote Kal-El or Bizarro on this one.

I'm going to have to sleep on it.

Speaking of which... It's been a very long day, so I'm going to tape SGU and view that later. It's been fun, as always. I hope next week's ep is a bit more coherent... And I'm trying to not dwell on the fact that we only have a few more weeks of Chloe left...

:(

Ha Ha to the Tess cave that's very funny Procutus, and now for my two cents.

This episode rocks big time with fantastic action I loved Ollie's escape from the van,and the Martian Manhunter used his powers to mind wipe Checkmates leader, however if I recall I said that"when Clark distroyed the tower he only delayed the outcome, but we'll see what happens next week for sure.
I'm still recovering from my loss, but have a open mind for my future, and if any of you are in the Baltimore area in July come look me up at Marriot's Hunt Valley Inn for Shore Leave 32.

Signed

Speculation on who the Red Queen is...

Martha Kent perhaps? She is a U.S. Senator and Amanda made it very clear she was working for the government. Would be an interesting twist.

does that mean that nbc or the writers or who ever and now sanctioned chloe as watchtower officially...

Like Brent I'm back...and I thought the episode was outstanding, voted Red/Blue Blur. That is an interesting thought about who the Red Queen might be...I didn't even think of that possibility. The more the season progresses the more I'm getting convinced that Chloe is going to be the one who is killed off but this season finale has the potential of multiple deaths as well. I keep harking back to Geoff John's tweet after Absolute Justice aired when he stated that the Apocalypse Waller was referring to WAS Apokolips. That blood sample must be some kind of connection to Darkseid!! I think we are going to see him finally...

Tess was incredibly breathtaking IMO in this episode so was Chloe as always. The fight scenes were well done and the bullet time sequences didn't bother me at all. For the first time in a long time Clark finally had a true Superman moment when he busted Chloe out of Checkmate!! The scene earlier where Green Arrow escapes from the truck was cool as well...and I liked how Ollie slipped up with Tess and revealed who he was! It made sense too since he had been under considerable stress and pressure and wasn't probably on top of his game. I still don't trust Tess...the way the writers have written her character has been too inconsistent for me to evoke any kind of trust or to have sympathy for her situation. I think its going to be an awesome journey to the finale!

I missed it. :( Something came up and I was gone all night. I will catch it on CW website in a few days if I can't find another free outlet to see it.

This episode ranks right up there with Absolute Justice and Metallo as the best of the season. Good action, character interaction, and pacing throughout. I agree that Tess has been written inconsistently, but I give credit to the actress for making Tess vulnerable, sympathetic, and still totally untrustworthy in her final conversation with Oliver. I liked most of her exchanges with Oliver last night and the dual revelation was pretty neat.

I also liked Clark breaking Chloe out of Checkmate. I thought those scenes were cool and I'm glad they were shot that way so it didn't make the action rushed, which I think Smallville does way too often. Pam Grier was good as Waller, though I admit I still wish they had gotten CCH Pounder or maybe even Penny Johnson-Gerald for the role. Grier is growing on me since Absolute Justice. Seeing the Martian Manhunter use more of his powers was great. I was hoping we would see him phase though to get at that alien blood.

Interesting speculation about the Red Queen. That would be pretty interesting indeed. I hadn't heard Waller say queen, so I had been thinking it might be a Red King, and I know that a potential candidate will be showing up before the end of the season.
