Unintentional Geek Moment of the Day!

So I just took my car through an automatic car wash, window and stereo go down to pay the guy, I close the window, and I am no longer in control of the craft.

As the car moves forward on the conveyer, I turn up the music and find that my iPod ambient mix has settled on The Enterprise from the TMP Soundtrack. :techman:

Somewhat regal, somewhat majestic, I let the music wash over me as the water and brushes wash over the car. Just as I reach the end, the final fanfare plays, as the driers streak the water dramatically off my windshield... yes I felt like going to warp, the old fashioned way :rommie:

Ok, so what's your Unintentional Geek Moment of the Day?

We have the lights that go off after a time and then pop on when motion is detected.

One day most of my hall was to have subs. They had unlocked the doors and turned on the lights. I'm the last room on the left. As I walked to my room all the lights popped on as I passed the rooms.

I actually threw a hand flip toward the last door for the fun of it.

I felt it was a Geek moment.

I have no geek moment for today, but yours is totally awesome!

  :techman:

Not one of the day and only "barely" a "geek moment."

But once a while back I was visiting a friend and he was telling me about something deal he was offered through an auto-dealer. He was relaying the information to me and I said, "Well it sounds pretty good!"

"But," he said and then pointed out a "catch" in it that pretty much ruined the deal. The randomizer music player on his computer (which had been playing music this whole time) then made an interesting selection from his sound files.

It played the "you lose" trumpets from "The Price is Right."

You know? Bum-bum-ba-bum. Waaaaaa.

Him and I were lauging pretty god for several minutes after that.

I was at Cedars-Sinai's medical imaging center, getting a bone density scan or something, and I was wearing a red shirt. I noticed that the tech girl and another patient waiting for a procedure were also wearing red shirts. I looked at the three of us and said, “Well, I guess one of us is going to get killed before the next commercial break!”

Both of them GOT IT!! I suppose you might call that a triple-geek moment.

accepting someone's webcam invite and saying, "on screen" without thinking as the feed popped up.

Not mine (I believe I read it on here), but a personal fave was someone who walks up to the automatic doors at a grocery store and waves his hand at them using the Force to pry them open.

I did a quiz on Facebook. The quiz was "What is Your Klingon Name". After answering all the question it told me that my Klingon name was Grilka. I think is was someone geeky of me to know just who Grilka was.

When going through automatic doors, I always hum the theme from Get Smart.

I live in a neighborhood overrun with elderly snowbirds. EVERY time I walk into the local wal-Mart I find myself humming the theme from "Dawn of the Dead". Now I just have it on my iPod...It's actually quite relavant.

One of my professors was talking to several people about addiction and trying to convey just how many times smokers raise their hand to their mouths in a year, which he somehow figured to roughly 50,000 times a year, on average. His way of showing just how much that is was by stating that the average male thinks of sex about 5,000 times a year. I blurted out; "That's it!?!" To which he implied; "Well, there's a standard deviation." We were the only people in the room who laughed.
