Five Comics To Take the Plunge into TV Land

The Green Hornet did not originate as a comic book, but it has been published as one. I think it would be perfectly viable as a TV series, as it was during the 1960's.

Larry Gronick's Cartoon History Of The Universe
Alien Legion
Spider Man
Vapirella
Groo The Wanderer

Fables (it even comes with its own spin-off, Jack of Fables)
Gotham Central (but only if they're allowed to use Batman, which has always been the sticking point)
Starman
Daredevil
Astro City

I want to add Sleeper. The boys, and preacher would be wild but no studio in their right mind would want to tackle that.

I think the key for comics to transition into TV land, is comics which don't require a lot of CGI and spandex.

Hellblazer

Surprised it hasn't happened before. Seems to me like it could be the perfect example of an episodic supernatural TV show. But maybe British channels haven't been looking for a supernatural horror/drama series.

She-Hulk. I mean hey you got a hot looking green chick, she's a lawyer, her clothes rip easily and she's got the silliest rogues gallery ever! Not to mention Marvel films has the rights to the Hulk so they could have Brucey or just the Hulk without Puny Banner show up, they could even have RDJr cameo/guest star as Tony Stark or Iron Man's voice/HUD during an episode or something.

I'd adapt the original Byrne series and a little of the more current one.

I'd keep the fourth wall breaks. That's what makes it kinda fun too.

It'd be like WWE meets Ally McBeal meets the Incredibles meets reality TV

Not only is Green Hornet coming out later this year with Seth Rogen but Kevin Smith has a comic coming out that is derived from his abandoned script. Anyways here are my top five:

Ex Machina
Y The Last Man
The Authority (probably would have to be a HBO series)
Ultimate Spider-Man (despite my own personal opinion that this is what Mark Webb and James Vanderbilt are turning into the new trilogy)
Astro City

Ok, I will add another...

Spawn.

I think Spawn needs another round on TV...as live action, not cartoon.

Five for the broadcast networks

Checkmate
Fables
Gotham Central (with Batman an unseen, off-screen force)
Starman
Supergirl

Five for cable

100 Bullets
Hellblazer
Preacher
Sandman Mystery Theatre
Scalped

Five for animated series

Green Lantern (reportedly in the works as a Bruce Timm series)
Kamandi
Metal Men
Shazam!
Tom Strong
