A&F

I went to Abercrombie and Fitch quite a few times last month. They were having big sales after the Holiday so after two years working in the mall I finally bought an A&F t-shirt and a polo. It was nice paying the sale's price then the regular prices which are $60.00 for A&F polo and $30.00 for a A&F t-shirt. Which is quite expensive for clothes. Their clothes will make a skinny person feel fat their clothes are so damn tight.

I'm far too husky (and poor) for A&F stuff. Nice find on the sale though!

I can't bring myself to walk into Abercrombie. Everything about the store seems so pretentious. It's developed a reputation as the clothing of choice for upper-middle class, spoiled frat boys. The clothes are overpriced and really not worth it.

Abercrombie and Fitch is the store I avoid like the plague if I'm in the mall, mostly because of the sickeningly strong cologne smells wafting out the front of the store. If I'm choking for breath outside the store, I can only imagine how awful it is inside.

They play loud music, you can't not only smell the colonge in the store you can taste it in your mouth. That how strong is it in the store. I don't always go in there, unless they have good clothes on their clearance rack.

I picked up a couple pairs of jeans after xmas for 50% off. They're one of the few stores that actually stocks jeans in short lengths in store and that consistently have 25 or 26's (0 or 2 in standard sizes). However...

This is a massive downside. Not only did the whole place reek, but they had a big display along the line to check out and I really had to restrain myself from losing it on the bitch in front of me who kept spraying it on her boyfriend. My eyes were literally watering from the stuff by the time I got to the register and the girl had the nerve to ask if I'd "tried" it. I may have reacted badly to said question. :shifty:

I like their pants a lot. A really good fit for me and very high quality, I have pairs of Jeans, Khakis and shorts from 10 years ago that are still perfect.

Their shirts on the other hand are a bit too tight for my tastes.

Not a fan of A&F. Not really their demographic, though, so my dislike is hardly surprising. BTW, the intensity of the smell and the noise, both mentioned upthread, are absolutely deliberate and part of their marketing strategy. It clearly works on the demographic they're aiming at.

If I want something vaguely preppy, give me Ralph Lauren any day, esp. the Polo line for that particular niche. Or even Brooks Brothers Black Fleece, which often has some interesting things. I hear that in the old days before it was revamped, Abercrombie & Fitch used to be quite the quirky little WASP treasure-trove, though, with lots of unusual obscure items.

A&F was practically the uniform of students in my high school. This was about a decade ago though, so I haven't set foot in that store in a long time.

Oversized Rugby shirts from Abercrombie were the norm at my school. I never wore them, though. I'm strictly a Kohls shopper.

You would've been shunned at my school.

Shunned
.

Then again, people called our school "Preppy Ridge" so it's not like I went to school with great people.
