The End of Time: Too much spitting!

I don't know if anyone else noticed this but there was far too much spitting in this episode, especially from Timothy Dalton, who seemed to cause a mini monsoon every time he uttered his dialogue! I'm surprised that no one in the council chamber on Gallifrey thought to attend the council meetings armed with umbrellas when he was going to make a speech! David Tennant also seemed to do some spitting, but to a lesser degree, but still!

I think the spitting thing is a facet of getting older in some people. You seem to have less control over your lips or something. Found myself doing it upon occassion.

^I guess so. However, the reverse has been true for me. When wearing orthodontic braces as a teenager, a concious effort was needed not to spit or dribble when I talked, especially when they were first put in.

It didn't bug me too much, though it is an object lesson on why you don't do an extreme closeup of someone shouting against a black backdrop. The only problem I had was that it seemed to telegraph the fact that the Time Lords weren't good guys this time around, as it gave Rassilon an air of, I don't know, desperation maybe.

Dalton's spitting was pretty disgusting. Nah, you don't see that much of this in movies or TV; it can be easily controlled.

Well if you were in a spaceship that was burning up and falling apart and you swallowed some of the debris, wouldn't you spit it out?

Yes, I've noticed. And it did bug me. It was probably too expensive to edit the whole spitting out, but I would have appreciated it. It was kind of distracting.

Well, unintentional spitting happens all the time in relai life and sometimes at the most inconvenient times.

Still, I remember crakcing a few comments about Timothy Dalton's constant spitting while watching The End of Time.
