First on my list was the hand held Sony-book reader...and not far behind it was my BLURAY edition of Dark City. I got an official NFL football, autographed by Phillip Rivers

I also got my kids a nice keyboard (piano), which I'm having fun with, too. Maybe too much fun, since it's not supposed to be mine!

but then chocolate and port!

Worse pressie this year... an elasticated ring and braclet in a flower arrangement kind of thing. Truly horrendous.
Good ~ beautiful pair of silver earrings that look like shiny snowballs and a book on mythology.

In 1997 my parents bought me the Defiant electronic ornament. My apartment was broken into a few months later and, of all things, my box of ornaments were stolen. This year my admin tracked down one and gave it to me for Christmas! I swear I almost cried when she gave it to me.

My boyfriend bought me a 37" high def, and a Sirius Satellite radio.

The big present for me this year was a flat screen T.V.! Also: Star Trek Barbies- Barbie as Uhura, Ken as Spock and Kirk; a gorgeous cross stitch kit; a bottle of Marc Jacobs' Lola; and a box of Godiva chocolates. And I haven't even opened my sister's gifts to me yet.

That's so sweet, I almost feel like crying!

It's hard to pick a favorite present. My husband bought me a ridiculous amount of stuff, the highlight of it being DS9 the complete set. He also bought me Star Trek on Blu-Ray and neglected to realize that now I'm going to be making him watch loads of Trek.

My in-laws always spend a lot but I think more than that it's more touching to see the thought they put into the gifts. It's nice to have people who actually pay attention to you and pick up on your interests, even if they don't share them.

I think the highlight of the night was when my brother-in-law opened his present from us, though. He works really hard and has wanted a PS3 but him and his wife are sensible with their money and saving up for other things. So we gave them one for Christmas, complete with games and all and I've never seen him speechless like that before. And then he just kept saying "Seriously?!" over and over. He's 28 but it was like watching a little kid!
