Megan Fox is A Trekker

I'm pretty sure RandyS just insulted me. However, he also outed himself as a virgin, so we're even. :)
Well, imagine if you're a guy who tells every beautiful woman he meets:
Woman: "So... you said you were into SciFi?"
"I like Star Trek... but you wouldn't understand, I'm sure you're not intelligent enough"
and meanwhile tells every woman he chats up online:
Woman: "Do you want to see my picture?"
"Nah... Since you're a Trek fan, I'm sure you're ugly"

... it's not really surprising if you remain a virgin, is it? :vulcan:

There has even been a rumor about for a while that she plays WoW. Not impressed.
Stealing Mila Kunis' thunder, are we?

I mean, there's an attractive girl who apparently does play WoW and actually knows what a twink is, which means she's either legit or she's been well coached.

And in fairness to Megan Fox, she's not pretending she was a geek prior to fame. She lists Trek and comic books as current - and apparently just current - interests. Granted, perhaps for her her 'interest' is 'oh wow, this is such a marketable franchise for me/oh wow, this geek girl thing is a marketable image for me', but whatever, as isn't that good news for us geeks?

I don't buy Megan Fox being a Trekker or playing WoW (beyond maybe having seen an episode or two, or playing WoW once because some friend/boyfriend had her try it). Not because I don't believe a beautiful chick can be a nerd (I'm married to one, I've known others, and also, Reese Witherspoon was kicked off of an RPG board I used to go to because people thought she was fake. It was later independently confirmed to be her), but because she has a history of making statements to the press that lack detail and seem designed to boost her image with her target demographic. She's bisexual. She plays WoW. She's a Trekkie. Uh huh. Sure. Show me video of her and some chick making out hardcore and then laying in the afterglow of their lovemaking discussing how similar what Leroy Jenkins did is to something specific that happened in a Star Trek novel.

No, seriously. Show me that.;)
It's always nice to be supported. :techman:
Oh. Is that what the other guy you thought RoJoHen was was doing?

I know this may sound overly cynical but... I call BS.

So do I. Beautiful women simply don't like, or have the intelligence to enjoy Star Trek, which, is probably as much a stereotype as "All Star Trek fans are virgins", but it's much easier to believe (and far more likely).

Hey, now! I'm damn cute, and I love Trek. So there. :scream:

:wtf: :cardie:  :scream: :klingon: :brickwall::mad::censored::mad::mad::mad::klingon::klingon::klingon::klingon:

Nice move. Thank you for offending all the female posters and calling us ugly. Jerk.

Oh yeah, and for maintaining that "beautiful women are stupid". You're really showing your intelligence here. :vulcan:

My point was saying that is that it is a stereotype (and yeah, probably an unfair one), just like most of the "beautiful women" consider us Star Trek fans virgins, when many of us are not.

And thanks for calling me a jerk. You are most likely correct.

Good God. I was trying to say that BOTH fucking stereotypes are unfair. Okay, so I used the wrong wording.....

I sincerely apologize for any offense (none was intended) and for expressing an opinion.

For a moment, I was trying to see things from your point of view, but then I realized that I can't get my head that far up my ass.

Unfortuntely, the way it came across, it sounded like you actually believe in the stereotypes.

I was just playing around, RandyS. I didn't realize you were being facetious, but even so, I was more bemused than offended.

I tend to doubt Fox as a trekker or Wow player, just because the advantages of a nerd appeal are too obvious. She sounds a little contrived when she talks about it.

I could be wrong though.
I don't have a problem with it really, it's not like having a public image is a new thing for actors.

As for the Nerdy women, I think they are often the most attractive ones out there, and they are much more exciting than the name brand. I've seen pictures, and testify that there are several Trek BBS beauties posting among us.

Put me in the BS camp, as well. The unscripted interviews I have seen with Megan Fox showed me she has the intelligence of a tree stump. I find it hard to believe she is capable of enjoying Star Trek on any level. But, I do think she could be Kirk's next green chick in a future movie... no more than that please!
