Playstation 3 users: your top three games?

Persona 4 (because I don't have a PS2 so hah!)
Uncharted 2
Valkyria Chronicles

Special mention: Flower and Noby Noby Boy.

PS3 Exclusives (bearing in mid that I haven't got round to playing Uncharted 2 or MGS4 yet)...

1. Killzone 2
2. Wipeout HD/Fury
3. Uncharted: Drakes Fortune

Multiplatform...

1. Batman: Arkham Asylum
2. Dead Space
3. Fallout 3

I just started playing Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction, and I've bought Wipeout HD Fury... so far R&C isn't going on my list.

^ I personally loved ToD. It was my first R&C game. I've since played most of the PS2 games and Quest for Booty. I've enjoyed all of them.

I also got A Crack in Time yesterday. So far I've played it for about three hours and it's a ton of fun.

^It's not that I don't like the game to a certain extent, but I wouldn't place it as one of my favoutires. Then again, I would put it above Resistance and Motorstorm at this point, which are the only other games I've played besides the ones named.

Yeah I can definitely understand that. While I really enjoyed ToD, I definitely think it's not as good as Valkyria Chronicles or Uncharted 1/2.

Am I the only one who was a little underwhelmed by Resistance: Fall of Man? I picked it up after hearing all these glowing reviews, but when I actually played it I was just like, "Is this it?" I'm not sure if I should bother with Resistance 2 or not.

Same here. It's not a particularly bad game, it just seems to handle like a game that missed the improvements games have had over the last 5 years. Which has made me think twice about getting Resistance 2.

Well, I find playing FPS games with the PS3 controller kind of awkward anyway. That might have had something to do with it. I definitely prefer the Xbox controller for shooters.

I really dislike the PS3 controller, too. The xbox controller is much better.

Funny enough, I've learned to cope with it. Even the way that fire buttons are on the shoulders instead of the triggers.

That said, the d-pad is much better on the DualShock 3.

While there's nothing really wrong with Resistance, I do think reviewers were being a bit generous because it was one of the first games for the PS3.

Is it? I've never had a problem with the Xbox d-pad and I prefer it where it is on the xbox controller, too.

The Xbox controller is so much better than the PS3 controller. The Sixaxis is particularly pathetic, has absolutely no weight to it thanks to the lack of rumble... I'll never understand why anyone would prefer the dual shock loosey goosey sticks, or their placement. Maybe if you have huge thumbs or something.

The d-pad is indeed better than the 360 controller, but honestly I don't use the d-pad for much. The 'missing center' of the Playstation design always bothered me, in the early days it always grinded up my thumb something fierce and forced me to adapt how I used d-pads compared to the NES/Genesis/SNES days.

As for sports games, granted I don't play a ton but the Xbox controller is just fine with Madden...

Resistance was not a good game. Very mediocre. I'm not a huge Halo fan, and Resistance was nothing but a clone with decent production values.

Hmm... I find it tough to decide, and I haven't bought all THAT many games since getting my PS3, but here are my top three exclusives:
-Valkyria Chronicles (though I haven't finished it)
-Wipeout HD/Fury (especially with the Fury add-on)
-PixelJunk Eden (a very quirky but fantastic little downloadable game)

Ratchet & Clank Future SEEMS excellent, but I've only played a little of it. Same with Uncharted; it was really good from what I played, but I didn't play enough to feel I could really judge it. (Yes, I mean the first one; I'm a bit behind.)

Non-exclusives:
-Burnout Paradise (ridiculously addicting)
-Mirror's Edge (amazing game with a pretty cool story)
-BlazBlue (one of the best 2D fighters ever!)

As for controllers, I find I like both the PS3 (which is essentially just a PS2 controller with some minor alterations) and 360 controller for different reasons/different types of games. I do find the d-pad on the PS3 better, though that's generally not a huge factor, since most games use it as a secondary input, and for fighting games (the one type where I'd have to use the d-pad exclusively) I use an arcade stick anyway. Overall, I'd give a bit of an edge to the PS3 controller.

Yeah it's pretty sad how bad the D Pad is on the 360. Of course it's sort of random, I've gotten some 360 controllers with decent d pads and some with awful ones. Both the PS3 and Wii have Microsoft beat with their D-Pads, and I believe that's because Nintendo and Sony have patents on how their D Pads work.

Still though other then that I prefer the 360 controller over the PS3 controller. The triggers are better, the buttons are a tiny bit better, the analog sticks are pretty much the same and I personally prefer that the analog sticks not be right next to each other.
