I now know how a Mafia type feels after murder!

You know the part were they go out to the countryside and dig a hole or find some other remote location to do something similiar. I did something similiar with a old matress I had. I tried to take it Goodwill but they wouldn't take it because it had a stain on it. So I did what anyone would do in that situation and decide to try out to the country and dump it somewhere!

I felt guilty the entire time and was all nervous I kepth expecting a cop to show up and arrrest me while I drove but I eventually found a road that was off from the main road and I got out and droped it to the side of the road and then raced off as fast as I could!

If I would have seen you ditching the mattress, I would have pulled over and told you to load it back up and take it with you on threat of being turned in.

I tend to be forgiving of a number of criminal behaviors depending on circumstance, up to and occasionally including murder; but littering is one thing that I find deeply and unconditionally offensive.

Go to a priest and seek forgiveness at once, or better yet, go back and clean up your mess.

There are a lot of criminal activites that I can forgive, depending on circumstances, up to and including murder. Littering isn't one of them.

Go back and clean up your damned mess. If nothing else, find out what the place you bought the new one from does with old mattresses and do it.

Seriously? Why not go to a dump/municipal waste disposal site/your country of residence's equivalent? That's what they're there for. :wtf:

I drove past the city dump but the line was to big and they charge you to use the city dump. I had to go see my thearpist and I didn't have much time. I would have put in a city dumpster but they frown on that with big stuff so there really isn't much else I could do with the thing.

Yeah, there's plenty else you could do with it. Take it to the dump like everyone else, whether it costs money or not. Or check your city's website to see when they pick up large items with your trash. If you're going to dump it somewhere, at least take it behind a business and put it on their dumpster or something.

Jayson, I see this kind of shit now and then littering my woods and the roads and parking areas that run through them, and it is always an eyesore and makes me want to hit the people that left it there.

Go clean up your damn mess! Or at least drag it deep into the woods, take an axe to it, and burn it. Then have a cookie. You'll deserve it, after committing murder.

But first go take care of the huge piece of semen-stained litter you left on the side of the road! :klingon:

Well how much would they charge you? Would it be more or less than what you'd be charged for illegal dumping?

Line too big? You can always come back later. It's not like the matress was going to run away if you didn't dump it ASAP.

Shit like this is why you don't have your life together. You don't dump your problems, you take care of them. If there is a roadblock, you figure out how to solve it. Next time you are faced with a fight or flight response, fight.

I agree with everyone else here - I hate seeing such things dumped when there's so much more that could be done with just a little bit of effort or patience. It's the reason my home town's conservation area transformed from a peaceful relaxing place to go for a walk to a horrid dump.

I took an ex there a few years ago and walked past mattresses, bathtubs and all kinds of crap. I can't even throw a cigarette on the ground, I have no idea why people choose to throw away half their house into the nearest hiding place.

They may frown on it, but at least it's not illegal.

In my old apartment complex, people were always throwing large pieces of furniture in the dumpster. It's what it's there for!

Funny story -- Most Oklahoma towns have a "free dump cleanup" every spring and every fall, where residents can put waste/trash at the curb for garbage trucks to pick up. This includes mattresses and box springs. This month happens to be the fall cleanup for Norman, where the local landfill dumping station is open every Saturday for residents to bring their refuse at no extra charge. Where I live, in the sticks, they city brings to large dumpsters to a local gas station for residents to use on one Saturday during the free dump clean up.

You should learn more about the community where you live.

Oklahoma City's got bulk pick-up once a month. It comes in pretty handy when you want to get rid of a bunch of junk.

Plus in Oklahoma, somebody will probably take it off your hands. :techman:

I can't tell if you're being serious here.
