Glee went up a little, that's good.

It's sad when NBC's number 1 show is The Biggest Loser, a show named after NBC themselves.

Some hope for Fringe fans and more reason for FOX to move the show...

Viewers are turning out en masse to watch "Fringe" later on with the DVR instead of watching it live, showing that while they want to see the show, it's not their top priority on a Thursday night.

30 percent viewership boost when DVR data was added to its Sept. 17 airing, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

FOX grow a pair admit you were wrong and move it before the damage is done.

But DVR means nothing because they don't watch the ads, right? Anybody know how well the Season One DVD sold?

Once again it's a real easy fix.

Instead of having Dancing on Tuesday and Dancing and Glee on Wednesday, move everything a day. Have Bones and Fringe on Tuesdays, Dancing on Wednesdays, and Glee on at 8pm and Dancing on at 9pm Thursdays.

I mean really, how freaking stupid are these people? Oh yeah it's Fox..... I hope Futurama has an episode dealing with the "Box" network.

But if they see that people really do want to watch the show but aren't watching it at the time it's on, they may change it to another night so that those people WILL watch it live and have to watch the ads as well.

Hell, I'm an SPN fan and I'm in full favor of them moving Fringe. My poor little show is hovering at 2.5 million in the final ratings (also with a big non-live DVR viewership).

Fringe is just one show too many in the time slot for SPN to deal with--but it's not a healthy time slot for Fringe either. Fringe dipped down to 5.8 million in the final ratings Thursday with only a 2.1 in the 18-49 demo (according to Travis over at pifeedback). That would cut it on CW but it's death ratings for Fox. Hell's Kitchen did better in the timeslot because it was a reality show alternative. Why not move Dancing to Thursdays at 9? Reality shows have proven they can work in that slot. Move Fringe back to Tuesdays and make all the genre fans happy, Fox.

The Jim/Pam wedding on "The Office" drew viewers; the Office had 2 million more viewers than usual. Factor in CSI and Grey's and it's just ridiculous. Grey's Anatomy takes all the young person's demo. Sure it's a crap show and it's stupid that it outperforms everyone in the time slot, but what can you do? Thursdays at 9 is just ridiculous.

You really don't understand Fox do you?

They will not move their shows around, they are assholes who rather just let the shows die a slow death.

Do you really think Fox won't move Fringe, even though it would benefit its ratings and thus FOX's bottom line? There's long run DVD earnings potential with genre shows. They often catch on later. Unless Fringe isn't a FOX produced show, which would explain why their suits don't give a shit.

I'm just saying DVR ratings don't mean shit to anyone. If they had any common sense they would have moved the show by now. Frankly I think they have one week before it's too late. Dancing hasn't really started yet, they can move their schedule around now. I think the next time it's easy to move shows will be with Idol, but by then it will be too late.

Dorian I think is on to something, Fringe is produced by WB so Fox most likely doesn't give a rats ass about it. Plus they don't have a lot of shows to stick in there. The only other show I can think of to stick in Thursdays would be "Lie to Me". Maybe LTM is a Fox show and they rather keep a Fox show about some type of copish thing which is great for syndication.

That's right. I'm surprised I didn't remember, but Fringe is produced by Warner Brothers. If Fringe were on CW, the Warners suits could fight for it since it owns half the network. That's what they did when Dawn Ostroff was determined to cancel Supernatural after its second season (when it had higher ratings than it does now) because it didn't score highly in the female 18-34 demo. It already airs in 70 foreign markets, so Warners would have lost all that syndication money if there were no seasons 3, 4 and 5.

Warners, unfortunately, can't overrule the FOX execs. Fox is not good to its genre shows save for the X-Files. It shows me that Fox isn't invested in Fringe, or it would give it back a more favorable time slot. Dawn O isn't invested in SPN since it doesn't fit her teen girl demo formula, so she leaves it in the Thursday 9 p.m. slot without advertising. Fox is doing exactly the same thing to Fringe. It's a shame. I'd rather see a genre show succeed than reality shows, boring procedurals, and Grey's, but them's the breaks. Fox's priority is growing an audience for Glee and for Lie to Me.

The thing with Fringe is that it's doing better than the show that was in its timeslot last year so FOX may very well be happy with those ratings.

I thought Hell's Kitchen netted about 7 million viewers in the time slot last year for FOX. No, I don't think we have many Vampire Diaries viewers here on the BBS. Pretty boy vampires don't seem to hold much appeal.

Doesn't really mean anything. Terminator had the same thing and its cancelled. DVR isn't seriously considered because, as was said, you can fast forward through the ads. However, I recently read that ABC is developing technology that allows them to override so you can't fast forward anymore.
