So that is it folks, the 3-part premier has completed its course. In the poll above, please note that it is MULTIPLE CHOICE; this was done to allow separate CATEGORIES for polling.

There are 4 categories; the first is to grade the episode Air Part 3. The Second is to grade the premier as a whole. The Third is to grade the premier in comparison to SG-1 premier and Atlantis premier. The Fourth is to see if you are going to stick with the series.

Pretty good and it's clear that the first two parts were all just setup. they really should've aired this part with the others.

Last week we made the civilians look heroic and the military look inept. This week we make the civilians look like utter fools and the military look heroic.

Robert Carlyle's character really came off as a dick. And now Eli is getting irritating.

I like how everyone trusts and likes Eli though, hate Rush, and like Eli, interesting setup

I like how I HATE all the characters besides Eli.

Also I think you can keep the grading and talking threads together, don't seem too busy. :)

Vast improvement over the last two parts as far as pacing went.

These characters are all interesting...just when I've decided to hate someone they do something to make me love them, and vice versa.

Only thing I didn't like about this part, in fact, was that we didn't get to see Telford's reaction when he woke up.

Excellent

Very good character episode for Scott, Chloe, Greer, and Rush. I'm looking forward to next week.

7 chevrons. I thought it was a little better than the first two parts, to which I gave 6 chevrons. It was slow and meandering, but I liked the dramatic tone and it did have some good moments when some of the characters changed bodies. Ordinarily, I wouldn't like that these people are supposed to be stranded in deep space yet have contact with home, but what they did with it was good creative scifi and had enough of a punch that I found myself liking it and wanting more.

---Grade the premiere as a whole---
Above Average. I enjoyed it and thought it was a pretty good Stargate for the most part. Like I said though, it was slow, and on top of that, I haven't developed a connection to a number of the characters yet, so that prevents it from being 'excellent'.

---Grade The SG-U Premier in comparison to SG-1 and Atlantis, which one is better?---
SG-1 - Children of the Gods. It was more focused. I put that premiere ahead of "Air", but not by much. In the end, it's really apples and oranges.

---Are you going to continue watching this series?---
Yes. Despite being a little thin in the story department, this show has given the franchise some freshness which has me excited about Stargate for the first time in years.

Have to say I enjoyed the Jack scenes as well. So very O'Neill. "Fix it. Figure it out."
It's always nice to see Jack O'Neill, but he can do better than that.

Okay, two things... What was that thing that detached from the destiny and flew off at the end? Also, I noticed that the issue of Rush supposedly being put in charge by O'Neill wasn't addressed in this episode. There was some question about that last week. Given that his claim could be verified easily enough, I assume that he really was put in charge.

I gave it a 6 though really probably a 6.5...

It was not a bad episode and while I enjoyed the start to Universe SG-1/SG-A were better due to well stuff happened. That was the problem with the episode it was kind of boring in parts but the ending was very good and we got to see some nice character moments with Scott. Also I liked the bit when the now widow (Chloe's mom) threaten to go public with Stargate secrets, with so many people knowing about it maybe there are going ot be cracks in the air forces secerey.

The problem with the show premise is lack of alien contact for now, which makes me wonder what are they going to do after a few more episodes to stop it becoming boring. I don't want Aliens every week but its a problem but the stone stuff could help create Earth plots with the gate going public maybe a lot of ppl have just dissapered anf there familes will ask questions plus the dissaperence of a SENTOR.

I look forward to more SG-U...Oh yeh SY FY give me a dam intro. :shifty:

^ Yeah, I was disappointed that there was no intro. And I too liked the threat to make the stargate program public, but I don't think it'll actually happen or that much will come of it, so I don't see it as a big point of interest right now.

My Grading

I'm giving Air III 8 - Chevrons, it was darn near perfect. If the series keeps up like this I'll like.

I give the premier as a whole an Above Average, very well done guys.

Overall, I prefer SG-1 premier Children of the Gods the best, with SGU second, and Atlantis third.

Hell Yes I will keep watching this series :)

I enjoyed it.

I continue to love the Greer character. He seems to get all the best lines and his budding friendship with Scott is definitely worth watching for.

So are Curtis and the blonde doctor gone for good? I never saw them come back.

So are Curtis and the blonde doctor gone for good? I never saw them come back.

Good question, and I'm surprised they did not bring it up. I think they are still on whatever planet they went to. I hope they explore this in the next episode, like try to go after them.

It was ok. I liked Lou Diamond Philips, kind of wish he was full time cast. So far Young has very little presence. I don't care for the main Channing Tatum guy at all, nor do I care about Chloe and her mom. Especially not her bitter soap opera alcoholic schtick. I like Rush, and Eli. Neutral towards the medic woman. The Ming-Na woman is an utter non-entity for now as well. Did I miss anyone?

As for the threat of exposing the Stargate program. I think that aspect is pretty silly at this point. I mean how many people know the truth? Thousands easily... across multiple nations... some of which aren't even that friendly with each other! Oh! There's someone I forgot, angry black man. If angry black man can make the team, then clearly they're not grabbing the best and brightest. It's a little silly... I'm not his character at all by the way.

So what happened to the people who went to the other planet? Did they send them another radio? Did they die? Maybe they brought back a horrible disease or something. I can't imagine that they'd make Rush wrong on this one, even if it does seem a bit silly. Seriously? Shoot the one guy to 'save him' based on pure speculation?

What's the deal with those Kinos anyway? Don't they have quite a few? Can't they fly up a bit? Couldn't they be far more efficient scouts than a group with a fat guy on foot in a desert?

Speaking of the desert. Woo! Desert. I liked the desert in the original Stargate movie, along with all the cool Egyptian mythology. Once they got into all the medieval village of the week, Asgard, and Merlin shit I thought the show lost something.

Anyway, not everything clicked here for me, but I'll keep watching for now. I think it has more promise than Atlantis had... that show jumped the shark about the time they met Teyla.
