Best singing voice ever... Vinyl Friday addition

So a few of us have been dragging our vinyl out on Friday evenings and re-discovering lost gems ~ albums, songs, singers.
So it got me to thinking who do you think has the best singing voice?
My personal favourite is Phil Lynott, of Thin Lizzy. That Irish brogue just puts a spell on me.
And Sade, her vocals just melt away any pressure.
What are your favs? Who's voice makes the hairs on the back of your neck prickle?

Well, EP just had that southern drawl that in his case (as opposed to most (if not all) others) was just irresistible!

Annie Lennox--one of the best female voices EVER, in my humble opinion. I would give Norah Jones a distant second, followed by a young Aretha Franklin.

For men, Otis Redding, Van Morrison, Seal, Freddie Mercury and, yes, I'm going to say it, Steve Perry. That man could f***ing sing; it's a pity he doesn't do it much anymore. I also like Sting and Rob Thomas, but I think it may be more for their music than their actual voices.

Is this the new Vinyl Friday™-thread?

'Cause if it is I just want to mention Brian Ferry, as in the album I'm currently listening to:

Hm. If I was to name a few favourites, I'd say Sam Cooke, Gordon Lightfoot and Steven Page (of Barenaked Ladies) would top the list.

I think I'd have to say that game, set and match go to Roy Orbison.

Freddie Mercury. Just an amazing voice. I still get sad sometimes listening to Queen and realizing that we'll never get another song sung by Freddie.

Ann Wilson, Karen Carpenter, Kate Bush,
Steve Perry, Lou Gramm, Howie Day are all amazing.

Another vote for Karen Carpenter. :adore: Plus I'd also add Demis Roussos. :bolian: And a few others when they come to mind...
