I reckon that would be one hell of a UK meet-up.

^ Did you like it?
*Stands poised to hand over another butty*

Oh, I love that show. I have the entire thing on DVD - a present from my saintly husband who actually dislikes it (no, I don't understand it either) but he got it for me anyway, and sometimes he even says, "Would you like to watch some Hyacinth?"

Oddly enough, my family often referred to the show as "Hyacinth". I guess because she's so pivotal to the show. But all the other characters really help (if they didn't react to her absurdity, the show would seem absurd).

BTW, there was another British show that took place in a department store. Does anyone know what that one was called?

Was it "Are You Being Served?" ?

^ Another one of my favorites. I own that entire series on DVD too. :rommie: My complete addiction to DVD buying continues...

But on a sad note, Mollie Sugden, the actress who played Ms. Slocumbe, recently passed away. :(

^ And if we can't get the actual Mr. Urban, we all can bring our McCoy action figures instead. Since I own all three current versions (and I will own the next version coming out soon), I will be able to drive in the carpool lane. :bolian: I hope they won't need to stop for bathroom breaks. I hate stopping when I get on the highway.

"But Officer, of course I have three passengers! Look, my action figures."

(I can just imagine them sitting each with their own seat-belt - like Buzz Lightyear in the pizza truck in Toy Story)

Meeting people on this board has been such a source of joy over the years; I won't list them all here for the sake of brevity.

There's a huge list of people I am yet to make acquaintance with, but would love to.

All of my friends on Trekbbs and LJ that I have not had the pleasure of meeting in real life, including but not limited to
mimic
tomolak301
montymark
J. Allen
Ghost07
Kira's Mom
T'Bonz
Crusher Disciple
JohnathanWally
Thena
Captain Ice

not to mention several former BBSers and/or LJers who left for greener pastures, like Black Dog
SJ
Spot's Meow
Mitchell
Philo
Miss Thang
Rosemary
mostlyharmless

And then the positively exhaustive list of people who may or may not pay any heed to me but I think are awesome in my lurker-y manner:
Rama
Cerwedwin
SquiggyFM
Dale
Crash
Spaceman Spiff
JKTim
Hugo Rune
Indranee
Temis the Vorta
Shatmandu
Blablover5
Jayson
T'Baio
Holdfast
Plecostomus
Jadzia
Alpha Romeo
Astrosmurf
Miss Chicken
trekkiedane
TheSeeker
Kriq'Sa
Kommander
Neeka Keet

And so on. Dammit I just love everybody on this board.

Aw, I pay heed. I remember our conversation on the chat very fondly. :p Although its been awhile since I PMed.

If we're meeting in Houston, the "HOV lane" is actually right in the middle, separated from the rest of the interstate by concrete.

I shit you not. That was the hardest thing when I moved there from Nashville. I was used to them being the far left lane.

I'm fairly sure I recall seeing a picture of you with flamingliberal.

Eh, we make him sit in the corner. on the window pane. overlooking a busy downtown Chicago street.

Wasn't that at Bandera? Where we took the "7-person table" maximum and threw it right on its ear?

I still remember Jenna mixing root beer with Coke that night.

I blame it on the losers at the next table for taking so long. We did tell the guy at that seated us that another person may be along and he said "well, the people at the next table won't be much longer and since the two tables were close enough ...

Oddly enough, I don't remember the coke/root beer mix.

176 posts!!! before I'm mentioned ...

Ha! So it is. And now you mention it, Jenee and K'ehleyr would be on the list as well. And I was thinking about who would be fun to get drunk with when I wrote it as well

Don't try sucking up now...

It's because it's 3am here now and I'm usually asleep before you're around:p

I'm kidding. I hardly ever post in Misc. I was actually surprised I'd been mentioned at all.

And, I'd definitely want to meet you, too.

Awesome indeed, but needs more Holdfast for eXtreme Awesomeness. :bolian:
Sounds like fun, and possibly realistic expectations too. But let's not invite Holdfast, he'd probably try to get drunk confessions from us to keep his thread going... and to have blackmail material...
