books paper or hard back i like hard back but they cast $25 and paper cost $8 ! what a man to do lol! thank god for the library lol gn ;)

I prefer hardback books but I generally buy papaerbacks because they are cheaper. Paperback are also easier to carry into my handbag if I think I will need one to read while I am waiting somewhere (at the doctor's, at the bus-stop etc).

What I really can't stand is books in which the printing is too light on colour i.e more grey than black. I can read smallish print so long as it is a good contrast from the rest of the page.

Paperback except for the authors I collect. If it's one of those I have to have the next book NOW!

I do try to get a couple of then from Half-price if I can wait a bit, but it's al,most as much to get there as I save.

Thank goodness for Wal Mart's discounts and teacher discounts at a couple of places.

Reference books: Hardback
Fiction: Paperback. Just easier to toss it in my carry-all and keep it handy for when I end up sitting around waiting for people.

Always paperback. Hardbacks are too heavy and hard and dig into me when I'm trying to read in bed or carry it in a backpack.

I always buy books as paper back when it's available - it's smaller, lighter, more comfortable to read and cheaper.

Hardcover when I'm in class or at work because I can leave it open sitting beside me. Paperback for the bathtub! :techman:

If I want to read it, I prefer paperback. If I want to collect it (i.e., it's a classic or part of a series of books) I prefer hardback.

Pretty much the way I am. Although I do read all my classics, too.

I prefer cookbooks in hardcover for some reason, though. And I absolutely loathe the dust jacket things on hardcover books. If it's my book and I've bought it, that thing goes straight away into the trash.

I'm the same way. I have sometimes double-dipped, and replaced a paperback with a remaindered hardback, because I prefer the latter. They just feel more like real books.

I buy more paperbacks because of the price and the ease of carry (I like to keep a book in my pocket or backpack for when I'm bored or have some free time), but for book series/authors I collect and major authors/series which I have to read immediately when the book first comes out, I'll get hardback.

I prefer paperbacks.

It is lighter when it hits my face when I fall asleep reading.
