It's been rumored for a while but it was confirmed today:

Paul WS Anderson is writing Resident Evil 4: Afterlife with Sony aiming for a September 17, 2010 release (Provided by ComingSoon).

You know, once Paul WS Anderson milks this to death, what's to stop him from going after Left 4 Dead or Fallout?

:scream: Oh for feths sake! I had hoped that the pile of excrement that was Extinction would have put an end to his drivel, hell i was hoping Resident Evil Degeneration was the start of a real effort to make films actually based on the games, not just using the names. But no, Paul WS Anderson is back to ruin another film.

Which RE character is he going to butcher this time i wonder? Leon S. Kennedy seems to be available, or heck why not introduce Chris Redfield and have him be Alice's new love slave. :brickwall:

I liked the second movie a lot. Third one was just meh. Hopefully the fourth will be interesting. I like the idea of a hundred Alice clones coming after Umbrella.

Not being a fan of the games, I like these movies as mindless action films with a good enough plot to keep me interested. However, if I were a fan of the games I can completely understand how these films piss all over them.

Having said that though, a fourth film would be a laugh.

they should just kill off Mila's character and introduce Leon Kennedy AND Chris Redfield, but wishful thinking since there's an army of clones a comin'.

I doubt Leon S. Kennedy will be seen in the films. PWSA said he was dead and that was included in the press information (including on screen) in Apocalypse.

It could be seen on the board in Valentine's house. In the copy of her news article about her being kicked out of STARS it lists her partner as Leon S. Kennedy and that he was killed in action.

The only thing I didn't know was what it'd be titled. I knew they were doing a fourth movie and it's supposed to be taking place in both Alaska and Tokyo.

^ Actually it was believed for a while that they weren't going to continue the Genesis/Apocalypse/Extinction storyline because they couldn't get Mila to sign on for it.

If only they couldnt get her to sign on. Maybe then we would get a film that wasnt just a love letter to her. As for Leon, rather him be dead than ruined by Anderson.

Imagine the pure awesomeness if Brett Ratner and Paul WS Anderson ever made a movie together!
