Star Trek moved back to #6 behind Terminator. It is a good hold for Star Trek considering it dropped only 27% from last Monday.

Decent numbers, probably better than expected. A 27% drop from last Monday is not bad.

Damn you, Terminator!

Seriously though, damned good hold... only UP (how do you abbreviate that?) and NatM held slightly better.

Makes you hopeful for another fairly decent weekend... :)

Nice to see it doing this well, and I think I have gotten a little too used to Trek being the number #1 film of 2009. I guess I am already looking at UP and wondering if it will do better than Trek. Obviously Transformers is supposed to be huge, but while we are still on top it really is nice.

It's been a long way from wondering whether the film would really turn a profit to having it be #1 at in excess of 200 million dollars... :)

Up looks to be on pace for $275-300 million, so it's only a matter of time before it passes Trek.

Up will pass Star Trek. As will the following films.

1/ Transformers
2/ Harry Potter VI

3/ Avatar (stands a very good chance to pass ST)

I think the best ST can do in the U.S. for 2009 is #4. It will most likely finish at the 5 spot for the year.

Transformers is expected to do 160-175 million in its first 5 days. That's huge. Even if it gets bad word of mouth it would still make at least 300 million, otherwise maybe 400 million.

That is soooooooo sad. The first one was AWFUL. Oh well, still just going to celebrate while Trek is on top.

I didn't like the first Transformers either, and the first Night at the Museum was ever worse. But they were both huge hits.

Star trek is a success even if it finishes 2rd or 4th for the year. I think the real competition Star Trek had was against its past. This movie has out done all of the others (except for TMP when you count inflation). Trekkies or Trekkers should be proud.

Odd. I loved both of them. Transformers was a big surprise to me since I have no affection for the original cartoon.

I really liked Transformers. I saw NATM on TV. It was entertaining, but I didn't like it enough to watch the sequel.

Final tally looks to be 245 million... can't see how it'll go past 250 given the upcoming Transformers.

It has these two weeks/weekends and that's pretty much it.

To me, Harry Potter, transformers and Up are all kids movies.

I thought the first transformers was just non-stop stupidity, with 20 minute action sequences in-between.

If trek makes the top 5 and apparently $240 million or so that's great.

I hated Transformers. then again, I'm a woman and pretty much immune to Megan's foxy charms.

I can't stand Shia LaBeouf after Indy 4, so won't be seeing it. Terminator 1 was ok, but that was about it for me.
