I picked "love it" because there is no "like it" option. It's fine. I've never really cared about the "look" of the ship (I'm NOT a ship "fanboy"). I appreciate the attachment the characters have to the ship but the look/shape of the ship itself is irrelevant to me. There have been ships I've found rather ugly (the D's outsized saucer never sat well with me and the Grissom in TSFS looks a bit silly), but I'm usually unmoved by the ships' designs (apologies to those who work hard to make them).

When I first saw it, I hated it. Now I like it enough that it is my current desktop wallpaper, and I've actually got the Playmates version sitting above my TV! :)
I like your screen name; it says "experimental aircraft" and "Canadian" all at once. It's surmised the Avro had caused some UFO reports.

I still LOL at people wanting/expecting them to replicate TOS era Sets and the Enterprise. Seriously, its not 1966 anymore, get over it.

I love it now, but I didn't like it at first. Actually, on second thought, I liked it but I also thought "well, the saucer is a little too far back, and the nacelle pylons are a wierd shape and the nacelles are too close together and the deflector is all big". Then I made it my desktop wallpaper just because I was so excited for the new movie and I came to like some of the things I didn't like before after seeing it more.

I'd have to say this ship takes the #2 spot for me behind the TWOK refit version (not TMP, I just think the brown deflector was ugly).

My father was eleven years old in 1966. My love for the TOS ship has nothing to do with the year. I feel it's a timeless design.

I think it's great.

Really nothing bad about it is coming to mind. You look at it, and you can't think of anything but Star Trek. It has the right mix of historical and contemporary strength behind it.

I've never been much into Trek Tech or ship design or anything like that. If it looks pretty cool, I'm good.

I liked the outside of this ship just fine...and I really loved the sets for the inside. So I'd say I loved it, for the most part.

I just made this my new desktop! Beautiful!!

I don't hate the new design. I'm kind of so-so. I just hope they do something about that bridge for the next movie.

I love it, can undestand why they maybe updated it so people know its from another timeline. But she is up there with tos and tmp and can bear the name ENTERPIRSE proudly in my eyes,no bloody a b c d or e .

"Not at first, but it's grown on me."

Mainly because the decisions they made aren't the decisions I would have made. With tweaks, it could have been better.

And the bridge problem can be mostly solved by simply turning a few lights off.

The constitution-class is by far the ugliest class of ship in all of Star Trek to me. The TOS TV show Enterprise was hideous, and the movies refit was 'okay'. This is the only incarnation of the TOS Enterprise that I actually kinda like, personally.

I didn't care for it at first and I still don't. However, I am slowly learning to like it. What I want to do is get a model, or toy of the ship to really look at it from, literally, all angles (and, no, I don't want to pay $30 for the Playmates toy - I'm hoping to find the HotWheels one, but considering that Trek Toys are swiftly being no longer stocked by stores, it is becoming difficult to find).

I hear ya, Broccoli. Myself, I want a 1:2500 model kit so I can get a 1701 classic one in the same scale and kitbash it until I'm happy. :D

I wasn't too crazy about it at first, but since then it's grown on me. After seeing the movie, it's become my favorite design. :)

It's... "OK" but I've no love for her and certainly no love to the proposed size of her.

This is really something they didn't need to change. Very minor tweaks to the original ship would've worked very, very, nicely in this film.

I think it's butt-ugly. The neck is too far back, they pumped the nacelles full of steriods to make it look 'meaner', and the nacelles are too close together. There was something very graceful about the TOS and refit both; the refit, especially, looks like it descends from a lineage of sea-yachts. The new one just looks brutish.

I don't think it's butt ugly, but the proportions seem to be off somewhat which makes it look strange from certain angles.

I think NCC1701-A has a majestic appearance to it and looks good from any angle ... a jewel in space. Hopefully, they'll refit the Nu-Enterprise. :)

By my third viewing of the film, I loved it. I really think people just have to get used to it.
