Wednesday (6/3) Box Office - Star Trek #4 - $1.3 million - $213 millio

Re: Wednesday (6/3) Box Office - Star Trek #4 - $1.3 million - $213 mi

Unbelievable staying power. T4 is off 46%, Trek 30%. What with Lost getting truly abysmal reviews, Hangover is the only real competition for the weekend. Terminator will drop fast, and Trek is really the only sci-fi action flick fare out there right now... that might keep it competitive... :)

I am still planning to see it again, although it may have to wait until this Monday. Private screening, I'm thinking... :D

Yeah, Land of the Lost looks bad, but it still should do over $25-30 million. I personally am excited to the see The Hangover.

Wow, Land of the Lost looks badddd!

Will Ferrell has got to expand his repertoire if he hopes to join the ranks of Jim Carrey and even Ben Stiller.

It is always the same ol', same ol' with the guy, and even my "Will Ferrell is a GOD" son is hesitating on whether to go see it...

I'd hate to see it that many times in the cinema, and end up getting bored of it. As fantastic as it is, seeing it 10+ times seems like the appeal would gradually lose something every time.
Not for me, obviously. :) It's a rich feast.

Yeah, I'm getting tired of him too. I do like some of his films, but his last few have just been alright. I think Stranger than Fiction was a good movie and he showed a little range there, but then he went back to the same old Will Ferrell movies.

I cringe every time I have to sit through the LotL preview. yuk. I hope it tanks. badly.

STRANGER THAN FICTION was his Truman Show. And I agree; he messed it up with this bad looking LAND OF THE LOST movie...me chaka!!!

Re: Wednesday (6/3) Box Office - Star Trek #4 - $1.3 million - $213 mi

That is so cool! Thanks. I did my bit: trip #12 last night.
So you hate it then?

I've seen three times, the most I've seen a movie in the theater since I was a kid. I was very surprised at how sturdily this film held up. Many of the things I thought were "holes" the first time in, were covered, I just missed them because this films zips by.

So ...12 times ... at which showing were you able to recite the dialogue in its entirety?

On topic: #4? Cool.

I got a little sleepy during my 7th showing, but that was more likely because I like movies in either the morning or late at night, and tend to get tired during movies I watch mid-day.

I never expected the movie would hold THIS well after four weeks.

It goes to show you that Trek's the BEST so far.

Re: Wednesday (6/3) Box Office - Star Trek #4 - $1.3 million - $213 mi

UPDATED with Final Numbers:

$1.26 million. It did end up staying in the #5 spot behind DMTH, but there was only a $3.5K difference, whereas yesterday it was $106K.

We are going to keep going a couple times a week until it's gone. I'm sure there is someone who has gone every day; there's another poster here that has been at least 13 times.

Are you a paramount exec by any chance?

Incredibly, it does...! Who knows if more, if T4 continues its slide and LotL tanks...

Looks like DmtH is Trek's new A&D though... beat it out by 4 grand according to mojo.

They would never leave L.A. Harold Ramis only moved back here, because tinseltown is no place to raise kids.

Haven't seen Drag Me to Hell yet. That's on the list... As creative and funny as The Hangover might be, I think I'll wait for video.

Fortunately, Trek is only losing about 8.7% of it's theatres (305), so it will still be in over 3000 theatres.

I'm hoping it does at least $7.5 million.
