What film WOULD you LOVE to see a remake/reboot of?

Like the title says, what film/franchise would you love to see a remake or a reboot of?

The one off the very top of my head would be Lost in Space, I thought the original movie was fun, ofcourse it was a childhood movie and I've since gone on to class Gary Oldman as one of my favourate actors of all time, and Matt LeBlanc a failed actor from a once popular TV show.

But I'd like to see a re-make of that, with like STXI graphics and a good new plot.

(Just wondering, did anything think the warp drive in STXI was MORE like the hyperdrive from the Lost in Space film, and not Star Wars?).

Honestly?

Star Wars. Not because I think it can be improved upon; I'm just curious to see how it would turn out.

Earth: Final Conflict.

So much potential in that original story. Could have been managed so much better. Could have been a classic.

I think Highlander could be a great franchise if it were done properly and thought out enough. I thought all the movies were bad, even the first, and the TV series had more bad episodes than good.

Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise could be much better shows, but Voyager would need a more serious clean-house reboot.

Off the top of my head I would say Daredevil. We really need to get a good movie with a better lead.

Since you asked us to confine this to movies only, I would love to see a re-do of X-Men: The Last Stand with Bryan Singer attached, just so we could see where he was planning to go after X2. A remake of Spider-Man 3 without Venom wouldn't be bad either.

The Magnificent Seven with Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Thomas Hayden Church, Jeff Fahey, Don Cheadle (since Danny Glover is too old for this shit:lol: ), Matthew McConaughey and Matt Damon.

I always thought Howard the Duck could have been a masterpiece in the right hands.

Forbidden Planet would be a good one to redo.

The third X-Men definitely needs a do-over, as does the third Spider-Man.

I would cheerfully watch another version of LOTR just to see what another creative team does with that awesome world. No need for it, the LOTR films are brilliant, but as a fan I'd watch as many versions as people want to make :)

If I'm allowed to suggest a TV show (outside the parameters of the thread as laid down) I'd really love to see a new version of "Space: Above and Beyond" just because by the end of the season it feels like they are so nearly there in creating an utterly classic and different sci-fi show, but it got cut off. If we got a reboot that was all the quality that the show eventually reached, (not to mention with modern special effects) it'd be amazing. No series, not even nuBSG has specifically asked questions and told stories about war in the way that S:A&B, at it's best, tried to do.

The Devil Rides Out.

A great old horror movie, let down by poor visual effects and one of the most unconvincing Satanic orgies ever filmed.

Actually, I've already seen the remakes I've always wanted to see:

War of The Worlds: Loved the new one, don't care what anybody else thinks.

King Kong (2003): See above

Godzilla (1998): See above

The Day the Earth Stood Still: Didn't love it, but to me, not the crapfest so many predicted.

So I guess all I can say is:

Mission Impossible: Remake the hell out of the movie series without Tom Cruise, and don't let anybody who hasn't actually watched the TV series write it.

Star Trek: Because JJ Abrams should be drawn and quartered and his limbs tossed over the cliff Emo Kirk drove the car off of.

The Devil's Rain

Impossible.

I mean--who could possibly replace William Shatner and Ernest Borgnine?

The original even features Anton and Diane LaVey, High Priest and High Priestess of the Church of Satan, in bit parts.

The Devil's Rain is craptacular. A remake would be just...crap.

The movie is actually creepy. And with CULTS so big these days? I think it could be a hit. This new movie called ANTICHRIST, with Dafoe, is in the same ballpark from what I hear.
