Toys out early!

I wouldn't mind having the ginormous Enterprise from the TRU display, not that I have any place to put it.

Saw a couple of the Hot Wheels ships at Target, but no XI Enterprise. From the pix on the box, it looks like the nacelle caps are red - I wonder if the final toy will be like that.

PLAYMATES USS ENTERPRISE NCC-1701!!!

Caved in and bought the new Enterprise!!!!

Anyway, I think the photos don't really do justice. It looks better in person once you open it up. Its not up to par with Art Asylum in terms of details, but coming from Playmates, if you compare their past Star Trek offerings, this new Enterprise is probably their best one yet. Gone are the days of applying the decals on the ship unlike the past starships released from Playmates many many years ago.. This time, its all the details are pre-printed. Something they probably picked up from Art Asylum. Open it up, pop the ship onto its display base and you're good to go.. The only downside of this is that for the price you pay for it, Playmates could have at least included batteries.

J. J Abrams, producer and director of the new Star Trek movie stated that the design of the new Enterprise was intended to be a merging between the classic refitted Enterprise and the new design for the new movie. This is very true coz at certain angles, you can see the classic Enterprise of days gone by, but at other angles, you can see the new shape of the Enterprise. Its a mixture of the classic ship with a modern touch. I think the ship looks pretty cool and it will take some getting used to for some veteran Star Trek fans. I'm sure the new ship will be accepted more once we see it in action in the new movie..

Until other versions of this new Enterprise come along from other manufacturers, this one from Playmates is currently the definite display piece of the new Enterprise. Recommended for all Star Trek fans!

Re: PLAYMATES USS ENTERPRISE NCC-1701!!!

I wonder why the NCC-1701 Stamp isn't on the bottom of the saucer (In the movies or here).

Re: PLAYMATES USS ENTERPRISE NCC-1701!!!

No problems.. Happy to share em.. Its a great looking toy of the new movie Enterprise from Playmates IMO...

Anyway, to answer your question, the Voyager model and the Ent-E are both the lighted model kit from Bandai. Voyager was released in 2004... Got it in that same year as well.. It lights up really well especially in the dark..

Re: PLAYMATES USS ENTERPRISE NCC-1701!!!

Looks good. Just wondering how much you paid for it? Thanks.

If you're talking abt the new Enterprise from Playmates, I got it for abt US$40.. Keep in mind that I got it locally in my country (Singapore) and I heard that the comic store where I got it from has since increased its price to about US$60 since they realized it was selling well due to the movie... Luckily I got it earlier before the movie opened in my country. Unfortunately, my local Toysrus doesn't bring in the new Star Trek toys unlike those in the USA

The lighted Voyager, if I remembered correctly, cost me abt US$120 at the time I got it in 2004..

More photos... The beloved classic Enterprise with the soon to be classic yet modern Enterprise from the new movie.... Oh man, both ships are a beauty..

I found the relatively realistic looking TNG Goddard shuttlecraft in the used toy bin of a local flea market for just 25 cents.

Hey Peeps!

:) Picked up the Abramsprise yesterday - it is the personification of awesomeness!!!!!! IMO...

It is now my fav enterprise starship ever!!!!!

:bolian:

the Hot Wheels ships are very cool. even though i have a bunch of various micro machine, art asylum, and johnny lightning ships i just can't resist. i also found the Hot Wheels Bird of Prey. only one i didn't see was the NU Enterprise.

I don't think the new movie Enterprise has been released yet. The initial wave is just the 4 ships (Ent-A, Ent-D, Reliant and Bird-of-Prey).

Interesting thing I noticed about the Ent-A...it's not the Ent-A! It is painted as the Ent Refit, yet the packaging says Ent-A. If this is an error not yet noticed, collectors should hit the stores now!

Also, I would really like to pick up one of the NuEnt, but I can't find it anywhere. Perhaps it hasn't been released yet.

I'm still debating on whether or not to pick up the Ent-D. It looks cool and it looks like the saucer separates. Those that picked it up, does it?

The Enterprise.. does this feel solid? When I pick up the boxes they seem to weigh nothing. It is 80.00 here so I'm curious. Haven't found a box open yet.

It feels decent, I wouldn't throw it around or anything. But it isn't falling apart.

I am kind of disappointed in the Playmates Enterprise. I guess I was spoiled on the Art Asylum models. I mean the attention to detail on their A and E were...incredible. This just looks so...underwhelming.

Being a fan of the AA/DST Enteprises, I have to say I LOVE the new Playmates Enterprise. It doesn't have as much paint detail but sculpt-wise it's nice and the lights are amazing! I wish it didn't have so much legal copy on the bottom but that's my main gripe.

Kane-Steel - the repaint looks very nice! Playmates are supposed to be fixing the likeness of Pine in upcoming waves. I might have to swap some heads if that happens. He's the only likeness I'm not really happy with.

Has anyone seen the 12'' Pike and Sulu exclusives at TRU? I keep waiting for them to show up but now word yet.

Some of these were gathered from computers at Wal-Mart and Target.

But according to this article at action-figure.com
http://action-figure.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=24538
back in February, Playmates planned on at least four waves.

Wave 1 (that we've gotten)
Wave 2 (July through September)
Wave 3 (for Christmas)
Wave 4 (early next year)

Whether all these come out or whether plans have changed, it's hard to say. An Orion figure was said to be in the works. They also said several more play sets are planned if the first ones sell well. Of course we know that these are on the way:

Utility Belt Role Play Toy
Narada ship

These figures were found in Wal-Mart computers for the 3.75'' scale. Not sure if these are all Wave 2 or not:

MCCOY / ENTERPRISE 43377-61756
CHECKOV / ENTERPRISE 43377-61758
SAREK 43377-61762
GENERAL AYEL 43377-61764
KIRK / CADET 43377-61765
SPOCK / CADET LEADER 43377-61766
TBD 43377-61767
UHURA CADET 43377-61768
SPACESUIT KIRK 43377-61770
SPOCK VULCAN 43377-61771
TBD2 43377-61772
KIRK FROZEN PLANET 43377-61774
SULU SPACESUIT 43377-61775
POLOARILLA 43377-61776

The figures were found in Target computers for the 12'' range:

Chekov in Enterprise Uniform
Uhura in Enterprise Uniform
Nero
Sarek
Scotty in Frozen Planet Outfit

Of course all of this is just rumor until Playmates officially announces it, and things can change. For instance, Nero was supposed to be part of Wave 1 in the 12'' figures but got pushed back for some reason. There were also some rumors that one of the future playsets would be Nero's drilling platform.

I certainly hope all of these get made! I'm loving this line.
