Wow, that's creepy, look at one of my first avatars for this contest:

^^ He looks like a kid whining to his mommy . In my version, I'm imagining him yelling his lungs out in anger. The reddish background touches on the anger theme... but then, I felt like some clouds might give a little dimension. Then what the heck, stick Stratos in there.

On comparison I believe the LEFT one is far superior to the other IMO.

And yes 70KB is limiting ..... tell me about it.

Thanks, Zero of Zero. The more I look, the more I'm inclined to agree. You can tell what he's saying more clearly in the second one, but it lacks the dynamism of the original.

I stand by the original:

You should see what the 'full' original version looked like.
