Everyone's favorite time travel episode?

Jaespol

Captain
My favorites are

(DS9)Trials and Tribbleations- the DS9 crew gets transported back in time to a TOS episode where they mingle with the crew. A hilarious episode that is brilliantly produced and acted. I feel sorry for Nana Visitor who thinks to that Bajoran nose of her character only got to sit on the Defiant set the whole time!

(VOY)Before and After - Kes begins traveling back in time from the moment of her death witnessing the deaths of her crewmates and captain and the birth of her descendents until she disappears altogether. Seriously interesting concept (ripped off or not), it was cool seeing what had happened to all the crewman over the next 7 years.

(TNG) All Good Things- Picard starts jumping between past, present and future! Well everyone knows what went on here. I thought this episode was great but it lost a couple of points for me thanks to Braga's awful technobabble infiltrating the episode.

Haven't seen "City on the Edge of Forever" yet. Its sitting at home still unwatched :-|

"Past Tense" from DS9, definitely. It showed us some of Trek's past that's still in our future, with a good dramatic conflict and an interesting examination of one of the "in-between" periods of Trek history. Avery Brooks delivers an outstanding performance in this one as well, IMO.

I freaking detested "Past Tense" for the most part.
It was the preachiest two hours of television I've ever seen in my entire life, it was disgusting!

Well, I'm sorry you didn't care for it. But it is my favorite time travel episode, which is what you asked people about.

"Yesterday's Enterprise" and "All Good Things" for me.

I suppose you'll all pounce on me for not saying "City on the Edge of Forever"...

Ah yes, "Little Green Men" another example of why Ferengi Comedies do not work the majority of the time...

At least Quark didn't get another sex change.

Trials and Tribble-ations, of course. I also really liked the one where Voyager went back to 1990s Los Angeles. If we're including movies, The Voyage Home.

All three of those were good, as well as Trials and Tribble-ations and Timeless, and I liked the "idea" of Flashback

You're thinking of Future's End, guest starring Sarah Silverman :)

of course, TVH is good

Will never understand why people don't love the Ferengi comedy episodes.

I find "Yesterday's Enterprise" more of a parallel universe episode as the crew didn't actually do any time travel themselves.

Tasha did, for better or for worse

but I agree, it is the closest to a MU episode TNG got. quite enjoyable

Well, the cast themselves may not have time traveled but the plot did revolve around time travel and the concept of altered history without actual realization of alteration. I mean sure WE knew it all changed but to the characters it was life as usual.

That's what I liked about it, the way they all so normally acted in the war timeline and the differences in character. The writing and acting made it seem like this was the way it always had been and the cast pulled it off great.

How many other episodes "didn't happen" because of time-travel paradoxes? I can think of:

  • Year of Hell
  • Parallax
  • All Good Things...
Did I miss any?

Whole episode: Trials and Tribble-ations - I loved the entire episode, great job by everyone involved imo.

Best scene: All Good Things - Well, it's two scenes really. The AGT Enterprise decloaking and ripping through a Klingon ship, and when all the different Enterprises appear through the rift and you see Riker and Worf aboard a battle-torn ship from a universe where the Borg have all but destroyed the Federation.
