Virgin No More

Can you actually remember the first movie you saw in a particular theatre? And the last movie you saw there? Meaning the opening and closing movies??

I remember seeing THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER in what was then a new theatre, and has since become an asian food market. The best, or worse part? The air-conditioning was out and it was hot and muggy inside the theatre, which gave the movie a real "on a sub" feel to it...

The last movie I saw in that theatre was the Clone Wars...

Another movie I saw for the first time in a new theatre was Xmen 2. It had the new stadium seating and awesome sound, and DLPs. It is still a sweet place to see movies in..

We used to have a bargain theatre, which was once in the day, a good theatre. It got run down really bad. I remember seeing SEARCH FOR SPOCK there when it came out (when it was a newer place to see movies). The last movie I saw there? NEMESIS (for 1$..which was about as much I was going to pay to see that movie again)

The first movie I saw in my local cinema was Santa Claus: The Movie and the last was Star Trek: Insurrection. Not long after that they closed it because another, larger cinema opened about a mile away.

Wow..is the Santa Movie the one with Dudley Moore? Man....if it is...i saw that movie too. Wasn't it made by the dude who made Superman movies???

I remember back in the day, here in san diego, when you had to go to a big screen, and I mean big screen, to see a movie. There were no 18-25 screen multiplexes. I remember waiting in line to see KHAN--ET--ROCKy 3--POLTERGIEST all in one summer....It was around ROGER RABBIT when the big-screens started to be taken down in favor of the big multi-plexes..at least, thats how I remember it being..

That's tuff.

If I can remember back that far, I think the first film I saw was either the original "Freaky Friday" or "Escape to Witch Mountain". The last one was the Bourne Ultimatum, I think.

The first film i can remember going to see in my local cinema was 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves'. The last, coincidently, was 'Star Wars The Clone Wars'.

I go to way too many movies to remember that. On top of that there's 3 theaters arround here to choose from so I don't always go to the same one. :vulcan:

Although, all 3 are all owned by the same company so I suppose it doesn't really matter which I go to if the money all ends up in the same place and the only thing to drink is Pepsi products.

Two theatres recently shut down near me. Sadly, I do not remember what movies I first saw there. However, I remember one theatre, the last movie I saw there was Batman Begins. The other theatre, the last movie I saw there was Casino Royale.

As for theatres that opened, one which opened over 10 years ago. The first movie I saw there was The Matrix. I think the last time I went there was back in 2003 when I saw Terminator 3. There's another theatre which opened two years ago. The first movie I saw there was Transformers. The most recent movie I saw there was Watchmen.

I remember seeing Santa Claus: The Movie ("Christmas II!") and (I swear I'm all man) Care Bears: The Movie as the firsts of two cinema's (One of which is now gone), but I can't recall the last. At a third (still open) I saw Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, and ironicly enough the last film I saw there was Freddy Vs Jason, and I haven't been back since. But the one cinema I alway thought of as MY CINEMA I saw Back To The Future Pt II (first) and Transformers (last) before it was shut down.

The first film that I can clearly remember seeing in the theater was Terminator 2 on my 7th birthday. My father told me it was my present but I later found out that my mother had refused to go with him that day and he just used me as an excuse to see it without her.

The second film I saw in theaters was Star Trek VI.

The only theater that I've been in that I know has since shut down, I only saw one movie in - Mulan.

The first movie I ever saw - Anastasia.
The most recent movie I saw - Wall-E.

The first movie I belive I saw was the land before time(1988). The newest movie I have seen is The day the Earth Stood Still.

I remember a theater with two screens that used to show first run movies when I was a kid, but then became a discount theater, running movies only after they had played out elsewhere. The first film I remember seeing there was 2001: A Space Odyssey in 1968. The last film I saw there was Weird Science in 1985. That theater is long gone now. The building doesn't even exist any more.

I was guessing from the title you just saw The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Not the first movie I saw, I know I saw Star Wars but don't really remember it. The first I actually distinctly remember seeing was Superman, it was kind of a big deal because I saw it with my recently divorced Dad, I had this *GIANT* program from it but didn't save it unfortunately.

Oh yes, I almost forgot about that one. I vaguely, and I mean vaguely, remember seeing that in the theatre, but I have more vivid early theatre-going memories from the subsequent year, 1989. I definitely remember going to the cinema that year to see films like The Little Mermaid and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I would have been about 5 or 6.

A number of movie theatres have come and gone over the years in the area I grew up in, and I have a feeling the ones I saw the above films in are no longer there.

Latest movie I saw in theatres? Watchmen.

Roseville had only 1 theater I went to that closed. The Harding Plaza Cinema was brand new when I saw the movie "Caligula" there in 1979...the last film I saw there was 'Lost In Space" with my kids back in 1998...it closed a few months later..

Earliest I can remember going to see all came out in the same year..."Follow that Bird", "Enemy Mine", and "Teen Wolf".

Our old local theatre (since replaced by a new shiny deal in a different location) was open for years. Most of my lifetime movie watching happened there.

I think the first movie I saw there was either TUC or BTTF III. The last one I saw was The Matrix Revolutions.

What a double feature that would make!!!

The first movie I recall seeing in a theater was The Wrath of Khan (with my dad) :D, but I was only six years old :D and I don't know what specific theater that was (somewhere in Memphis, TN).

The last movie I saw in a theater was Monsters vs. Aliens at Silver City cinema, Richmond, BC.

The first movie I saw at Silver City was The Matrix on April 18, 1999, the day I met my spouse.

Incidentally, the part of The Wrath of Khan that I most vividly remember from that experience was the ear-creatures, and Kirk's phasor sound as he killed Chekov's creature. :)

My parents have told me of earlier movies that they went to see with me as an infant in tow, but the first movie I REMEMBER seeing is the re-issue of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs back in the late 80's. The most recent film I've seen theatrically is Watchmen.
