I have written down a number, but its written as a word (eg twelve not 12)

It has more than 4 letters

The letters start in ascending alphabetical order, the reverse in to descending alphabetical order.

There is only one number that satisfies these rules, what is it?

I'll give everyone till Tuesday to take a stab at the riddle, then I'll tell everyone the answer.

Actually, you do bring up an interesting point. Would you think there'd be more participation if people saw this on a Monday night instead of Saturday?

I'd only be sad if it were chicken soup, with pitta bread.

Weekends are definitely far quieter. Plenty more traffic during the week. You don't seem to be having a traffic problem right now though.

Can you make it a proper pub quiz and provide some booze, too?
