Just saw the episode, sorry, was out of town, I am AMAZED. This episode kicked ass in so many ways. I take it John Henry is a good Terminator and Weaver is indeed the Terminator we saw swim away from the Jimmy Carter who was going to join the resistance. I am thinking she went back in time to build a GOOD version of Skynet to overcome the EVIL Skynet.

I am so dissapointed in how they killed Derek though, he deserved a better ending, like a fight to the death with a terminator hand to hand or something, i dunno, he deserved better glory and honor then what he got. His death wasn't good enough for Klingon.

not EVERY death in a war can be a one on one duel with an honorable opponent

oh, and according to dish, John will have an encounter with weaver in the next ep

If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem. And if you're part of the problem, then you're a bad guy. Ergo, the police, who are not part of the solution, are bad guys.

It's part of the basic premise of the series that despite all the crazy goings on, the general public is unaware of it. The cops are made up of people who are no different from the general public. Therefore, it is a basic premise of the series that the cops don't understand what's going on and shouldn't be treated as unilateral bad guys.

Besides, otherwise we couldn't have had the "zero casualties" gag in T2!

I wouldn't try to think of machines as good or evil, but that they came to different conclusions. If weaver is indeed working against Skynet, it is possible that she sees an epic war of human vs machine to be bad for the machines as well.

I've been thinking about something. With all the deaths over the past few weeks, even if the show does get renewed the format for the show will probably change big time. My fear is that it'll be something along the lines of when Sliders or seaQuest got revamped after their second seasons, due to struggling ratings. Cleaning house may suggest something like that. Of course DS9 did something similar, bringing the Klingons and Worf in for season four. They handled that very well by not changing what did work for the show, namely the character development and the idea that every episode follow through with the consequences of previous episodes.

I really like this show. I love the direction it's taken so far. I just think that there have been so many major deaths that a season three could be dangerously close to shark-jumping time.

Also,
wasn't it said that a major male character was going to die in the season finale? Who's left? Ellison and possibly John Henry? Hopefully not John, I think he's shown a lot of growth.

Excellent. Much better than some of the recent ones. I'm also quite happy they got rid of Jessie awhile back, but today's death took me completely by surprise. I still can't figure out Weaver's master plan, either. -- RR
I think she training John Henry to be the leader of the machines.

I havent been posting here but I have been watching the show & been enjoying it a lot. My favorite characters are Weaver, her daughter & JH. I feel really bad for Savannah, her parents are dead & her only gaurdians are 2 creepy AIs... though there was something really sweet about JH's concern for her when she was in danger from the water delivery-bot.

Everybody is talking about killing cops, but Cameron didn't need to kill the cops. It could have been quite cool and funny if Cameron walked out and started shooting, until all the cops were down. Sarah, shocked at the brutality, and unable to see at the speed of the event where she hit them all, looks shocked at Cameron.

Cameron: "They'll live."

John feels his forehead as he goes: "I've got a bad case of deja vu."

Sarah: "What?"

John: "Nothing, let's just go."

She better not start killing cops just to up the body count. The police are the good guys. Water Delivery Guys and Weaver private security goons? Have at it.
Not that I hope Cameron will start randomly shooting cops (the expected jail breakout better don't be that bloody; I hope she only kills when absolutely necessary to protect/free Sarah and not just because it's the easiest way), but "Weavers private security goons", of which Ellison is actually the head goon, are not bad guys either. Most of them don't have a clue what is going on, they're just normal security guards, and Ellison himself is trying to do what is for the best. Hell, even Walsh wasn't really a bad guy; much like the 4 guards that were killed off-screen by the waterdelivery Terminator at Weavers residence, he was killed by the Kaliba goons.

I think it's fairly safe to say that the spoilers were based in reality, but off by one episode. Derek was a major male character, wouldn't you say?

Couldn't Cameron just walk around the police station naked and sex everyone into unconsciousness?

Oh, of course he's a major character. I really liked him. I just hope there aren't too many more major character deaths on Friday because it already smells like they're nervously revamping to survive, instead of possibly revamping to strengthen the show creatively.

I hope so too. Enough deaths.

There are no spoilers for any more shocking deaths, though. Not that this guarantees there won't be any, Derek's death was unexpected and very shocking.

I thought the ending montage (with "Donald were's your trousers") was really touching. Great episode all around, though an emotionally tough one.

The parallels drawn between Kyne's grave and Derek's grave (both are among the grass and trees now), and between Debbie's death (the nanny that had three lines, then was shot by the Terminator) and Derek's death was great.

considering she fought back, i was amazed they didn't shoot her.

She fought back!

Why didn't they shoot her?

American cops are allowed to shoot unarmed people if they run away but she fought back, and did a bloody good job of it.

Methinks they had special instructions to make sure she didn't wind up with a bullet in her head, because I'm not saying cops are insanely violent, just that after so many of then have been whacked arbitrary by drug-addicts or master-criminals or soccer moms trying to get out of a speeding ticket, they're justifiably cautious to put a hole in any one that doesn't follow their instructions to the letter.

besides expecting a tazing... I was yelling at the tv "taze her bro... come on taze her..."

they didn't even do that... How Uneventful.

She should have gone to the roof of the theater and pulled out a mini gun

"0.0 casualities"

Would have taken too long. The cops would have been gone by then.

Hell, maybe that's what she was planning on doing when she and John ran! And then she realized - oops, I left my Flash speed force gadget in my other panties! :rommie:

Excellent episode, but why kill off a popular character like Derek? Cancel or not. Maybe a Derek from an altered Future will return?
