Anyone going to a midnight showing May 8th?

The local cinemas here in NZ are scheduling the premiere May 7th. Now I doubt they mean a full 24 hours ahead plus the time lag, but midnight carrying over to May 8th, surely. With that said, I might be the first bastard in here with a full fledged review of the movie (unless someone in Oz beats me).

Anyways, will you be attending the movie ASAP?

I'm going to the 8pm showing, although I know a couple of people who are seeing it earlier in the day.

As you've seen from my various posts around town here...I'm not exactly gung ho on this movie....I just pray pray pray that I'm wrong about it and it will be excellent...soon enough we'll know. I promised my nephews we'd go so I'm poppin a lot of shit about not going...I have to take him...! I've been exposing him for about a year and a half with Trek so it must continue...but they ain't too happy about the 'reboot' idea...and I quote my 11yr old nephew that said just last night: "that's not right...they can't do that"....ahhh from the mouth of babes.

Anyway, I'm 100% sure that even after we all see the movie there will be those that think it's great, those that think it's crap and those in between.
That's obvious and there's no escape from that.

Me, I'm optimistic and positive judging by what I've seen so far.
In the end, if it's good that's great.
If it turns out to be disappointing, oh well, it was certainly worth the try. Life will go on.

I will most likely be taking the day off and catching the first showing possible. It's been a long time since a movie came out that made me want to be there opening day. Looking forward to it.

Yeah, I read about it in the Trek Art forum. If this story is true, it sheds a rather unpleasant light on the people behind this movie.

Having said that, I'm still planning on seeing the movie.
