Does the new ST09 timeline have an equivalent Mirror Universe? I've already seen someone's avatar of mirror McCoy--an inspired move.

Idea for next movie: Original Constitution Class ISS Enterprise intersects with new USS Enterprise in a DS9 Trials and Tribble-ations style mashup.

The nuEnterprise would rip the mirrorEnterprise to pieces before it even knew what hit it... meaning that the tech levels between the two (three?) quantum realities are significantly different.

Yeah, maybe they got
Borg tech from the Narada attack on the Kelvin.

or you know... maybe transparent aluminum changed everything.

I guess, the only advantages the I.S.S. Enterprise can bring into battle are its unpredictable aggressiveness and its absolute lack of morals...

That's why I voted for ISS Enterprise. The sheer duplicity will carry them to victory.

Only in a The Wrath of Khan-style ambush, never in a classic broadside-against-broadside slugfest... just remember the nuEnterprise's swift reactions after entering the debris field over Vulcan!

P.S.
We should also issue a joint statement that this thread is simply for the fun of it and that we are not in any way affiliated with the likes of The Simpsons' Comic Book Guy! ;)

The NuEnterprise would kick the ISS Enterprises ass just because the crew of the ISS Enterprise would be too busy back stabbing each other to put up much of a fight.

I’d figure since the Empire had plenty of time to reverse engineer the Defiant in the 22nd century and improve upon it, the TOS-era empire might have ships and weapons more on par with the Trek XI Enterprise. However , the ISS-Enterprise does look like it’s TOS counterpart. The ISS Enterprise might be decades older than it’s TOS counterpart, one of a “Defiant Class” built in the late 22nd or early 23rd century. That is unless the Defiant was destroyed before the empire had the chance to study it. I’m assuming the empire reverse engineered it.

One could make an argument that following an alternate timeline, with an altered quantum signature a set "distance" from that of TOS, means that if the nuTrek crew encounters a "mirror universe", it would also be that set distance from the MU we are used to - possibly caused by a similar Nero event in the MU, even. So there's no telling what in the heck it would be like. Probably similar to the MU we are used to, but as with everything else in nuTrek, a lot of bets are off.

I can't be sure before I see what the Trek XI Enterprise can do but I have a feeling it would kick the original ISS's butt.

Technologically, I imagine the 09 ship will be more advanced so I voted for it on that basis. However, the mirror folks are pretty sneaky...

I wonder what a Mirror Nero’s motivation would be? The Terran Empire is long gone and conquered by the late 24th century, and I doubt the Romulans will contact humans if Romulus is destroyed. The only major powers in the Alpha Quad are the Klingons and Cardassians, with the humans forming a resistance/liberation movement in the DS9 time frame. So, a Mirror-Nero would probably have a beef with the Klingon/Cardie Alliance. There’s mention of mirror Romulans in DS9, and according to Intendant Kira, Mirror Spock took over the Empire in the late 23rd and made certain reforms, reforms which people in the 24th blame for weakening the empire and making it more vulnerable to adversaries who probably wanted to settle a score too. Maybe in a Mirror-Nero altered timeline, the empire doesn’t collapse and the quadrant is dominated by a Terran/Romulan dualopoly in the 24th century, especially if Mirror Spock doesn't gain influence in the empire.

I vote in favor of the ST09- even though the ISS crew would be more aggressive and evil, superior tech would more than compensate. Shields, beam weapons, photorps would all be more effective in power and distance.
It appears that the ST09 ship is a higher tech level that the Refit but under TNG level. Of course all of this is conjectural based on a few moments of footage we have seen, but as any Mac-head will say, the Apple Store has a lot of power under that glitzy white...

I was actually thinking
that the tech level would be between TOS and TMP because of the attacks, and accelerated development programs and so forth as a result. So what you may have is refit-level tech built with TOS level techniques.

Indeed... :vulcan:

If the J.J.PRISE, can somehow destroy a Romulan/Borg vessel hybrid, I don't see how the I.S.S.ENTERPRISE can stand a chance? I voted J.J.PRISE.

The entire weakness of the Defiant Origins storyline was that Empress Sato would have begun a massive fleet improvement program based on 23rd Century Trek Technology in the 2100's, shortly after she ended the insurgency with the Andorians, the Vulcans, and the Tellarites. Her engineers and scientists would have gone over the Defiant with a fine tooth comb with the objective of both duplicating the Defiant and improving on it.

By the time of Mirror, Mirror, Imperial technology should have been ahead of Federation technology because of the head start given to the Empire by the presence of the Defiant and its technical manuals.

I always assumed the Empress's reign would have been a rather short one, and the Defiant's life in the mirror universe rather short as well. Too many people fighting over it to live very long.
