When you got that craving to eat something

What do you go for? Ya know, its late at night, 11 PM, you know you are gonna be up a couple more hours, and you are hungry, you want to grab something to satisfy you, what do you go for? Healthy? Or something Chocolaty? What is your choice of snack to stop that craving! I go for the unhealthy and eat ice cream or something chocolaty :(
 
I've been munching on grapes the last hour or so. But there is a can of Beenie Weenis staring at me from the cupboard. Almost every thing else I have in the house needs cooked.
 
I like to make a salad. Not a full size everything in it salad, just tomato, lettuce, a little shredded cheese and some croutons or bacon bits.

^ i wish i could do that when i get a hunger craving, i go for the bad stuff, like a milkshake :(
 
I have been much too involved with a bag of cheese puffs lately. Try not to do that too often, but the fingers have orange tips this week. Thank goodness the bag is almost empty. And it's not as bad as the gummy bear binges.
 
I usually go for a massive bowl of cereal. A big thing of Cheerios (no sugar) and milk does wonders in the wee hours.
 
It totally varies. My eating habits must seem weird to others. I am an extremely picky eater, and I get extremely strong cravings sometimes. Like if I don't eat a certain thing right away I am going to go crazy. It can be anything from milkshakes to mashed potatoes. Healthy or junk food.
 
I can usually find something good by rummaging through the leftovers in the fridge. Having a family helps sometimes.

I once posted in response to a room mate thread that I'd rather resort to eating Cheerios every day than have a room mate. Some famous person once said that.
 
By 11 PM I'm fast asleep anyway. I'm not a midnight snacker - I eat a late dinner so by bedtime I'm not hungry. I don't keep junk food around the house either, so if I do feel a little hungry later on, I'll have a piece of fruit, or some toast and jam.
 
Usually at least once a week, I will have jalapeno tortilla chips and melted cheese or a "cheese sauce" - lately, this has been the medium variety of the Taco Bell brand cheese they sell in the mexican food section of the grocery store, but sometimes I'll mix up Velveeta, jalapeno slices from a jar, and 2% milk. That's a "before bed while reading" snack.

If I wake up in the middle of the night wanting to eat something I'll usually wander zombie-like into the kitchen and grab a couple of Hershey's Miniatures out of the freezer and go back to bed.

As far as cravings go, I've been craving some country ham and baby green lima beans for about a week now, and I'm going to have some this weekend.

If it's late, that usually does it for me, too. Corn Flakes with a banana or Raisin Bran in a huge bowl. (Think of when Jethro ate cereal in The Beverly Hillbillies. Kinda like that.) Funny, I don't crave cereal any other time.

In the old days, I'd have probably raided the fridge for anything. Leftover Chinese at 11 PM used to be like finding gold. In grad school, it would've been a green chili burrito from a nearby 24-hour fast-food place.
 
I don't snack. I might eat a mars bar or something once a month but other than that I only eat at mealtimes, and heartily I might add.

If it's late and I am hungry I just ignore it.
