Where on the site? I see drawings, but no photos of study models.
Is that a partial study model? Or was more built than shows here?

All that was built -- and I asked Taylor twice about it in my interview with him -- was the domed section where the Voyager probe was housed as you see above. He said Magicam was about to begin work on the big miniature (s?) around the time the Abel team was let go.
Keep in mind, the final miniature was never meant to be seen in it's entirety, so, given that, it may have been built in sections the way the Trumbull/Dykstra team ended up doing. There never was a complete model of their version of V'ger.
I'm quite aware of that. My question was about how much of a study model they made.

Fish, huh? Looks more like TMP nacelles as seen from above to me.
EDIT ADDON: of course, I remember a friend of mine who did some cheap sf submarine movies who just used the TMP nacelles with very little embellishment as his sub, so I guess even that looks a little aquatic.

I much prefer Mead's take on the shape, albeit I think the Taylor idea of a shifting surface is more interesting than the surface texture it ended up with.

They are both great designs in their own way.
The "eye" is the dome where the Voyager probe lives. The left hand end is the maw.
I like both takes on V'Ger, but I've always been a fan of Syd Mead's work. He's a truly brilliant artist.

But seriously, the site is undergoing a complete retooling, and there is so much new stuff to add to it that it's going to take time to get it done. Once the site is up, though, we'll add the TMP stuff. I estimate the latter to be roughly 4-8 weeks from now. And that's only an estimate.
The retooling is going very well, but the above is still true.
And please be aware that there are other rare goodies (including additional never-before-seen videos, pictures, etc.) ahead of the trench footage. It will all be worth the wait.

This is good news... I'm sure we all await with baited breath the opening of the new site.
Oh, and every time I see your Avatar all I can think of is "One moon circles!"
And with that in mind, let's try to wait until alchemist has some actual news to report on his progress before bringing this thread to the top again.
