What are the best stories about people being lost?

Aquehonga

Fleet Captain
I mean anything. Books, TV shows, short stories, video games, novels, films, comic books, aficionadofic, aficionadofilms, true stories, etc et al.

Genre can be anything, ala my thread's tags:hugegrin:

Some of my picks are "Gilligan's Island", "Land of the Giants" & "Star Trek: Voyager".

I've never seen LOST:(:o

I still fail to see what the big deal about lost is...

Giligans Island is a million times better in my opinion :p

One book that comes to mind regarding this is Into Thin Air, it's about a Mount Everest expedition that went horribly wrong (non-fiction). I read it years ago, and found it quite impressive.

Orphans In the Sky by Robert Heinlein

Lest Darkness Fall by L. Sprague DeCamp

The Door Into Summer by Robert Heinlein

Spellsinger by Alan Dean Foster

Milo and Otis (Hey, what can I say-its a cute movie)

The Bear (one of the best movies without dialogue ever)

Alien Nation

and let's not forget ST:Enterprise. That show was lost from the word, "Go".

Quit wasting your time with crappy TV shows and go watch Lost.

Couldn't agree more.

There is no point in resorting to any of the others mentioned until you have at least given this show a good try.

I used to think that way.

Then I watched it.

Now, I feel foolish.

Same here. Once I determined to give it a serious try, I couldn't stop watching it. And was sorry I hadn't been watching it all along.

For those who like the "lost-on-an-island-where-weird-shit-is-going-down" genre, I'd recommend Island by horror-suspense writer Richard Laymon.
