Missile Command! D'oh, can't believe I forgot that one. I suck at the arcade version, but the 2600 port was playable for me.
Born in '84, I grew up playing a healthy mix of Atari 2600 and, later, NES games. On the 2600, it was Pole Position, Yar's Revenge and River Raid, while my NES obsessions were Super Mario Bros. (all three of them), Air Fortress (fucking last stage was impossible), The Legend of Zelda and Bubble Bobble. R.C. Pro Am, too.
When I was younger I played mostly SNES and PC games. I remember playing a ton of Super Mario World, I loved that game. As for the PC I don't remember too many games I played, I do remember this adventure/learning game with a talking purple car though.
I had that Horrorland game too. Horrorland was my first and favorite Goosebumps books, so naturally I was very excited to get a game set in Horrorland.
I finally won that last month. As a kid I played it incessantly on the C-64, but could never win it.
Of course, this time I had it on the Xbox with my wife, and having a friend along made it easier.

Having grown up in a foreign country, I didn't touch a computer until I was in an American high school, and it wasn't for games.
My very FIRST gaming console, by the way, was the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) that came with a free game cartridge, Super Mario Brothers (which I played for hours on end) and Duck Hunt. My older sisters gave them to me as birthday presents. I also got some kind of Olympics-themed game that came with a "Power Pad" (a sheet of vinyl with some built-in sensors used for running and jumping). It would be the equivalent of today's Wii system.
Even then, game cartridges were expensive, so I didn't really purchase too many titles. I remember playing Star Trek: TNG, Mickey Mouse Fun House, and Wheel of Fortune.
Now 20 years later, I'm playing Street Fighter IV on PS3 on my 42-inch full-HD LCD TV.

Awesome true story.
My brother, Ethan, was playing a tough level of Dungeon Master. One of the programmers (Mike Newton) was a good friend of our other brother, Ron. At one point, as Ethan sat hunched forward, intent on the action, the programmer walked in and idly commented, "Ah, that level. That's a hard one."
Ethan said it was it was an amazing moment, like God had tapped him on the shoulder.

I was just about to mention this one. I loved the Putt Putt games! Especially Putt Putt Saves the Zoo. I still get the theme music stuck in my head sometimes...
They didn't have computer games in the 60s. Earliest computer game I can remember was the tennis game (which was crap even back then). I really, really enjoyed Space Invaders on the tabletop in my mid teens, though. I still fire that up occassionally on the laptop - just for old time's sake. Seems too easy, now, though.

When I had a Nintendo 64 I had a box full of about 400 games to play but can't for the life of me remember what they were called except for chucky egg, hong kong fuey and Terminator 2. There was this other game involving an egg guy and it was an adventure game and there were different games you could get involving the egg you played and you could pick up items and you sort of had to use them to advance further. For example you needed to get a gold nugget to give to a guy so he'd let you use his boat and to get the gold nugget you had to obtain a pickaxe and you had to find a pair of tweezers to take a thorn out of a lions foot. CURSE MY BAD NAME MEMORY! 
When I moved onto the Mega Drive I played games like Sonic, Micro Machines, echo the dolphin, Lemmings, James Pond, Jungle strike and the others like desert strike etc, Theme Park, Toe Jam and Earl and so on and so on.
It's amazing. All those games at the time were fricking awesome and it brings a tear of joy to my eye thinking about when I used to play them.
I've still got my MegaDrive stashed away in a cupboard but I threw my 64, I wish i'd kept it now.

I"ve played lots of games over my life. Lots of old Atari classics, NES, SNES..etc..etc.
There is this one game that i cannot remember for the life of me that came out i'd say somewhere around 95 or 96. A Star Trek game, if i'm remembering correctly that came out on a MAC. I've looked high and low for this game but cannot find it anywhere. All i know is it was a TNG game, and it was pretty much free roam...do what you want... GFX were nice for the time, but i'll be damned if i remember the name of that game!
Argh i wanna play it again.
