FedCom Reference Rulebook cover

Hey guys. Been awhile since I posted, you know, actual art here. :p These are a few of my latest pieces of ADB-related artwork. The first two images are covers for Federation Commander products, and the illustrations are interior art for the Prime Directive D20 Feds sourcebook. What do you guys think?

The chick with the tribble is adorable; I like the jaunty angle for the belt.

Thanks. :) She's a Cygnan, and the dude with the weird skin's a Rigellian.

Also, I forgot I have sketches I'm working on:

Gorn:

Paravian:

The Paravians are a bird-like race genetically related to the Gorns, situated in a neighboring star system. The Paravians have dug up fossils of their proto-Gorn ancestors, but have always viewed them as demons. So when they finally contacted their Gorn cousins, they immediately declared a holy war against them. This led to the eventual near-extinction of the Paravians.

This is all awesome work, Adam!

I've been intrigued by the SFB universe for a while now, and though I don't have ready-access to a group of people to play SFB with I am really interested in learning more of the fluff and checking out the RPG aspect. Where would be a good place to start?

Icy_Penguido - Excellent as always! My only concern is the second picture. While I agree with Bowman (at least I think it was Bowman who said that in 2001) that "it's full of stars," the shear number of large stars detracts from the ships in the foreground. Otherwise, like I said, great job and look forward to seeing more!:techman:

Thanks! If you're interested in learning more, there are a few decent sources you can start with. Wikipedia has a good overview of the SFU. You can also download the SFU timeline in PDF form:

Myself and other SFU fans love to explain things about the universe to people, ask anytime you wanna know something. :)

If you're willing to spend money, ADB's Prime Directive RPG books have an insane plethora of information, just tons and tons of stuff.

I hope this helps you get started. :)

Great stuff, Icy_Penguigo! Why haven't we seen you in the comic project? ;) And this is the sort of work that is perfect for this month's challenge, as well.

Thanks everyone. :)

BJ: My tools are nothing fancy. Good old paper pencil and pen for the original drawing, photoshop for the digital stuff.

USS Jack Riley: Yeah, I agree with you. Unfortunately, that one was done kind of in a rush. Oh well, it's just one of now dozens of squadron boxe covers I've done and they can't all be masterpieces. :p

Ptrope: It's a bad combination of busy and easily distracted. :p I actually want to enter this month's art contest, if I can just find the time to color my entry.

Icy_Peguigo wonderful artwork as always. Thanks for sharing.

By the way, what is the race of the man in Starfleet uniform with the tatoos? The image is named Feds3.jpg.

Awesome stuff. It's too bad that SVC hasn't been able to capitalize on the SFB fiction more. Maybe because of all of the canon stuff that's been around since TMP. I'd love to see a big budget animated production based on the SFU. I think it could go over pretty big, if done right.

Yeah, it does suck. The SFU is quite different from established Trek canon, but it is every bit as rich and intriguing(more so, IMO).

ADB barely survives by avoiding the ire of paramount unfortunately. Paramount would love nothing more than to shut them down for good, so they're meticulous about not stepping on the toes of canon Trek and sticking to their contract to the freakin' letter. Frankly, I'm shocked that SFC 1 & 2 ever got made(although, SVC is unhappy with how that panned out and has expressed that he is still owed thousands of dollars for it).

However there is hope. I might be drawing a Star Fleet Universe comic book series for ADB in the near future. Nothing is set in stone, but I've brooched the topic to SVC, and he is quite interested. If we can iron out the difficulties with it, it may very well happen this year. *Fingers crossed*. :)

Paravians? My first thought, since you did a Kzin, was a nice, updated version of the Skorr:

Wow. I would not be at all surprised if these guys were the inspiration for the Paravians. There seem to be a LOT of similarities here.

Also, this is off-topic, but this is some of my other recent hand-drawn art. None Trek-related, but it's cool and I'm drunk so I just don't care and wanna show it off right now. :P

Some of the pictures are slightly suggestive. No nudity, but if female sensuality bothers you, be warned!
