When is the next Myriad Universes Collection?

I just noticed in the signature of one poster here that they have written a story that is coming out in the next 'Myriad Universes' book. However, I do not recall hearing that there was going to be another book from that series coming out this year. Has it not been scheduled yet, or did I miss something?

It was delayed until early 2010, unfortunately. I think that this happened before Marco's dismissal, so that might delay it even further.

No, it happened as a result of Marco's dismissal; unless there are other, random publishing delays, it should be out August 2010.

(IIRC, there are three trades scheduled for next year, all delayed from this year - Seven Deadly Sins, in March, Myriad Universes: Shattered Light, in August, and the next SCE, in December.)

Oh. It did? My bad. What am I thinking of?

Was Seven Deadly Sins delayed before his dismissal, or have I simply lost it?

It's so unfortunate. This still is looking to be the best year for Treklit in a long time, but even still, missing those three Trades really does diminish it.

Ah well.

I like that we are getting 1-2 books from every series this year. I can't remember the last time this happened, but maybe it wasn't that long ago.

I also have my fingers crossed that 'The Soul Key' will wrap up the current story arc so that it won't be as bad to wait another 1, 2, or 3 years until the next DS9-R book. It doesn't look to me like 'The Never Ending Sacrifice' is really a DS9-R book, instead it's a Cardassian-centric post-Dominion War book. The blurb on the back also makes it sound like it will cover most of the DW, including the Klingon-Cardassian War before the real Dominion War got rolling.

IIRC (and it's possible I don't), Fearful Symmetry was originally supposed to wrap up the Mirror Universe thing, but for whatever authorial or scheduling difficulties was assigned to a different author (Woods) who took it in a very different direction, one too large to fit in one novel. So that would seem to indicate that Soul Key will be wrapping that up. I enjoyed Warpath and Fearful Symmetry a lot, but I'd still like to see the series moving on in 2010 to some of those big events that've been foreshadowed since the Gateways story; 9 years of foreshadowing is plenty, I think!

From what I remember, 'Fearful Symmetry' essentially had to be re-started from scratch when the last author bailed out. I could be wrong.

Right, exactly, and the new version was two-books-worth instead of one, hence The Soul Key. But after that, I'd imagine they're on to other things.

Ah well.

2010 is already shaping up to be boss and we don't even have a schedule for it yet. The three trades mentioned here, Margaret Bonanno's Saavik book, Mike Barr's Captain April book and a big ol' Typhon Pact miniseries.

2005 was the last time we got a fairly "even" distribution of novels. The last few years have been weighted more towards one series (TOS in 2006, TNG in 2007, miniseries in 2008), while Voyager hasn't seen a new book since March 2006.

If you guys are saying 2009 is gonna be a great year for trek lit, then thats a lot to say being that i thought 2008 was huge. There were so many great books out this past year; and now your saying this years gonna be great too! I have much to look forward to then
