I've been drinking this every night before bed lately. I can't even finish half the cup before it knocks me out.

That's awesome. Now I'm just jealous, because I have insomnia too.
Pffft... that's what he told me. Now, I'm emotionally scarred for life and walk around with a limp.
That limp is a daily reminder of better times, and you know it!
Indeed.... some tequila and chloroform, a ball gag and Top Gun in the DVD player.... wait, that was Garak.
I just finished off my bottles of Kahlua and Keg & Cask and I'm feeling all tingly.
That, in conjuction with your avatar, disturbs me deeply...
Oh well, not everyone likes booze. Some people are odd, after all...
Allergic to the chocolate or the alcohol? Neither fate sounds promising?
Ah, the Ghost of Christmas Past.
I opened the 2006 Valpolicella Ripasso to go with Christmas lunch. The buyer for Asda's Extra Special range really knows what they're doing! Light purple colour, intense hit of cherries on the nose. Well-balanced with plenty of fruit and a slightly straw/musty undertone. Not the most complex of wines and with an abbreviated finish but good for the price & age and no-one complained over lunch! I thought it worked quite well, all told.
The afternoon was then spent in the company of Messrs Croft & Hennessey, until a well-deserved nap.
I actually bought a bottle of wine yesterday.
One of my colleagues invited me to Christmas dinner. I know nothing about wine, but felt I shouldn't arrive empty handed. So I went to the liquor store, and asked for a wine:
--that would please people who know something about wine;
--that would be expensive enough to show that I'm not a cheapskate, and that I'm properly grateful to be invited to dinner;
--but not so expensive that I looked like I was trying to show off.
The staffer pondered these stringent conditions, and finally recommended Zenato Ripassa 2006. Since my host is an Italian-Canadian, this sounded like an especially good choice.
You may now mock me for the wine n00b that I am.

The Irish Cream turned out great! If anyone wants to make it, I melted about 280 grams of milk chocolate in a double boiler. In a large bowl I mixed a teaspoon of instant coffee powder (yeach I know, but I didn't have a chance to pick up a shot of espresso, which would be preferred.) a teaspoon of almond extract and a teaspoon of vanilla with some whiskey. Then I mixed the melted chocolate in with that. Added two cans each of evapourated milk and two of condensed milk and two cups and a bit of heavy cream. Whisked it all together while adding the rest of the 26 of irish whiskey. Made three bottles of irish cream. Delish! And considerably cheaper than baileys. :P
We've drunk a bunch of wines today, but I wasn't grabbing the bottle to see every time cause I wasn't choosing.
They were all delicious though. I did grab one that i liked so much I wanted to make sure I could grab a bottle, it was a Val De Cabreras Crianza 1999, from the Carinena region of Spain. It didn't name the grape but I assume it was a tempranillo as it tased very similar to many tempranillo Riojas I have tried, maybe some expert knows better though.
I also brought a bottle of my own Faustino V Reserva, Rioja 2002. It may be a supermarket wine and a rip at £15 a bottle, but I paid £2.50 each on 12 bottles, which is rather more reasonable
