MAJEL BARRETT-RODDENBERRY(Number One, Nurse Chapel) *Dies*

At least she got to record her computer-voice lines for the Enterprise in TREK XI before she passed. Fans will get to hear her one last time come next spring and summer

It'll be sad listening knowing she's gone, but it's a nice little link to the past I guess.

I never knew she was ill until I read the news, something like six months from diagnosis to passing away, condolences to her son.

If there's ever a TITAN project involving Riker and Troi for DVD or the Web, Deanna can mention her mother passing away on Betazed and they could even base a whole story around the impact it has on Deanna and her marriage to Will.

:( I just read the thread. What a sad surprise for us all.

 A toast....... To a wonderful woman and her amazing work on ST, Earth Final Conflict and Andromeda!

I had no idea... what a sad day this is. To me she was always the voice of the Enterprise, both equally great ladies.

RIP Majel, you will forever be missed.

My sincere condelences to Rod. I am truely saddened by this unexpected passing. I will remember Majel fondly for the quality actress who portrayed so many destinct personalities on both the small and large screen. From Nurse Chapel to the Madame in West World.

Rest in Peace, Majel, and thank you.

At least she lived this long. Considering how long ago TOS was made in the greater context of television history, its a wonder more than a few of the lead and supporting cast haven't died. Statistically, for Shatner, Nimoy, Takei and the others to still be around 40 years after the show's cancellation beats the odds. Good for them.

R.I.P. Majel

You will be missed, I hope you and the Great Bird found each other up there once more :)

She was a class act, all the way. I heard her speak a few times at Creation conventions. Very nice lady, and obviously very passionate about Trek and the fans. RIP Majel.

Absolutely RIP another cast member of TOS Gone, it reminds on of their own mortality, they have provided so much enjoyment thruout most of my Life, I owe them much, I've made friends that will last a lifetime thru trek.

Screening the What Little Girls are Made of right now.

OMG! :(

I had no idea her leukemia was that advanced.

This is truly a sad day in the Trek community.

She did so much for the show, and the female role in society. and above all, did so much for Gene.

May you two now rest in peace forever.

You will be missed. :(

EDIT: I knew she had a role in Trek 11 but thought it was another homage-rumour. Itll be sad to hear her beyond the grave in those scenes.

Maybe we'll get a great TNG-era novel now set on the Titan where Troi and Riker can cope with Lwaxana's passing. Would make for a terrific psychoanalytic study of the characters and their intertwined relationships over the years. Think "Dark Page" times two or greater.

A real shame the media has said so little about her death, considering what a pivotal role she played in one of the biggest pop culture success stories of the 20th century. I've seen and heard almost nothing about her passing aside from Internet reports.
