The Official Christmas Alcohol Thread

Most people I know think gin tastes like Christmas trees. Or at the very least, they think it tastes like how one would expect a Christmas tree to taste.

It's not a bad thing.

So a colleague of mine just gave me a nice bottle of Taittinger Brut La Francaise in appreciation of the work we did together on a recent conference.

The fact that it's my birthday makes it double sweet! :)

Happy birthday!

I like Taittinger... :adore:

Tanqueray is great in cocktails.

I found out yesterday that my secretary is the great-great-whatever-granddaughter of THE Tanqueray. And I just thought she had a cool name.

^ Small world! If she were the inheritor of all those alcoholic proceeds, she'd probably be sunning herself on a private island or something... I wonder where it all went wrong for her... :p

Straight tequilas, with a pinch of salt and lemon are one of the ways I was introduced to alcohol... Ah, fond memories.

I've also found that alcohol is vital when you have a house full of family on Christmas day. I'll drink Mad Dog if I have to.

I have never consumed alcohol in front of my family (nor have I ever said a curse word...I don't know why). This Christmas might have to change that.

I asked her that. Gordon bought them out, apparently, back in the mid-19th century. I told her she just needs to invent a new formulation and market that with her name instead!

Alcohol is vital to survive any holiday gathering with my family. Though I haven't been desperate enough to drink Mad Dog, yet. I haven't had that stuff since I was a teenager.

I don't drink in front of my parents or any extended family, but my sister is the one who got me drinking in the first place.

I have that problem with Captain as well. All of a sudden the bottle is almost empty and you're wondering what happened!
