The Beverly Hills Cop star, 47, has been signed up by British director CHRISTOPHER NOLAN to reprise the role played by JIM CARREY in 1995’s Batman Forever.
The surprise move follows speculation linking Pirates of the Caribbean star JOHNNY DEPP to the part.
The film, set for a 2010 release, is being developed under the working title Gotham.

So many things wrong with the article. First off, the films suggest a 2010 release. We al know that Nolan likes to take his time with these characters. He's not gonna rush into the third one. Second, Murphy would never do a part like that, and Nolan would never hire him. Nolan would either choose Depp, or someone out of left field like he did with Ledger. Casting for a sequel also never starts 5 months after the previous one. Or at least announuced yet.

This just in! Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale are out of the third Batman movie.

Ben Stiller is taking over as director and will also play Commissioner Gordon. Jack Black has been cast as Penguin, Tom Cruise has been cast as Riddler, Matthew McConaughey has been cast as Deadshot, Nick Nolte has been cast as Rupert Thorne, Steve Coogan has been cast as Alfred, Bill Hader has been cast as Mad Hatter and Robert Downey, Jr. is taking over the role of Batman.

So far, regarding the rumored third Batman film, I have heard:

- Cher as an older Catwoman

- Rachel Weisz as a younger Catwoman

- and now Eddie Murphy as the Riddler

What's next - Johnny Knoxville as the Riddler?

According to some reports I am hearing..Shia Laboof, or whatever his name is in as Robin?? HUH??? I don't know..I'm not feeling it...but I trust Nolan..

Please tell me you don't seriously believe this.

OF COURSE IT'S NOT TRUE.

When Nolan actually says he's doing the film-- which he hasn't-- then maybe we'll hear something legitimate.
