Not likely. I was honest about one of mine but most would be embarrassed to admit the truth. But I am one of those rare animals that doesn't give a crap what other people think. I have always done what ever I wanted despite the social consequences. (And in truth, my remark was a humorous attempt at making some people feel better. But once again my humor was lost in the translation. Dry wit just doesn't work on the net. You need the deadpan delivery and the proper tone of voice for it to work.)

Dry wit is easily missed on the board, I agree. As for your answer to Philo, I have to agree also. Even if people knew who you or I or anyone had a crush on, I don't know if it would make any difference. I think we all find each other's company enjoyable regardless. I'm just more concerned about the whole "ick" factor of it. I'm sure some women or men here wouldn't like to know who had a crush on them, particularly if that person was completely at odds with how that person felt. Me? I'd want to know, but that's only because I don't know how to mind my own business.

When you've been around as long as I have, yeah...crushes are part of the deal. There have been people I've found to be attractive and said so publicly. There are others I know off the bbs-not as well as I'd like, mind you-and I think we're good friends. There is one guy I've always found endlessly handsome, and he knows it. Damn distance!

But there is one guy that, in a moment of very poor judgment last year, I confessed to. I know he's gonna know the minute I hit "submit" right down on the bottom on this thing. I think about him every once in a while...how he's doing, what's going on and such. We had some great conversations that I truly do miss. Alas, I can talk until I'm...uh, blue in the face and nothing is going to come of it.

Oh yeah, I'm keeping his name out of it to spare him getting the spotlight...then again, maybe he does want it...I dunno...
