Ashoka and Luminara guard the viceroy ans Ventress has to prove herself as Dooku's apprentice and recapture Gunray.

This episode rocked, and it made Luminara a bad ass villain again, just as next week's episode promises to makle Grevious formidable again. Great fights. Kind of though it would have been more impactful if either Luminara or Ashoka were killed.

Awesome episode.

Great action, reminiscent of the Mustafar battle and the Death Star raid. Liked Luminara, great voice and fighting ability. Some good voice worked provided by James Marsters as the Senate Commando...sure didn't expect his betrayel but he got the Grievous Special at the end, courtesy of a badass Ventress. The Viceroy was pretty funny too.

Next week....Seth Green as Kit Fisto and The Lair of Grievous. Nuff said!

That was Olivia d'Abo, who has an utterly gorgeous voice.

I was surprised when I recognized his voice as James Marsters. I hadn't read anything about that casting. I wasn't surprised by his betrayal, though. He was a bit too smarmy from the beginning to trust. And Council Guards presumably mean people working for Palpatine, aka Sidious, so that was automatic grounds for suspicion.

Oh, that was Seth Green? From the preview, I was assuming it was Phil LaMarr. The voice had a distinct Samurai Jack quality to it.

Getting to see another new Jedi character might be interesting, but I'm sick of Grievous at this point. I wish they'd introduce a wholly original villain, someone who can be a major player in this phase of the Clone Wars and then be conclusively defeated at the end of the series. Maybe they should have some original characters (other than clones) on the good guys' side too, ones who aren't straitjacketed by the requirement to be at a certain point when the third movie arrives and have wide-open story arcs.

Yet another entertaining episode with great action sequences. And it's good to see the bad guys winning.

My only complaint is that Luminara didn't get much of a personality, she was just your typical stoic spiritual Jedi.

I think some original characters (beside Ahsoka and Rex) would be a good idea for this show.

Loved this one. One of the best so far. Strangely, I think my favorite moment was Gunray's sarcastic "Ha ha" after Ahsoka snidely asks him if he won't go anywhere. :D That and Ventress's response to the cooky-haired/traiterous senate guard... "I'll tell him myself."

Even though Luminara was presented as the stoic Jedi master, she was humble enough to show that she still could learn a thing a two. I think that was the irony, whereas Luminara had told Ahsoka not to let overconfidence become a weakness, she ended up underestimating Ahsoka and Ventress, as well as overestimating her own abilities.

I also loved when she got her eye steamed and it wasn't just a for a single moment, but she had to nurse her face and eye for a good time afterward. She still managed to hold her own for a bit however, by playing Ventress's pride against her; calling her "sloppy." I'll admit I preferred the voice of the previous 2D Luminara to this one. She sounded a little more mature and wise.

The only thing that confused me (and I had to watch it a couple of times to realize) was when Luminara held Ahsoka back from jumping down the elevator shaft after Ventress. If you blink, you miss the fact that an elevator goes rushing by right after she halls her up.

I'm hoping they Put Grevious back on the bad-ass list next week, just like they did this week with Ventress. Give Grevious a victory.

Well cosidering Gunray wasn't a prisoner in ROTS I'm thinking Grevious will kick ass.

meh. worst episode by far. Ashoka was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally annoying in this episode, which is probably the first time I've thought that. Luminara also had the personality of a cockroach. These two things really took away from what would have been a good episode.

Yeah, they need to bring in this guy from the original animated series and the comics.

I don't know what episode you were watching, but this was absolutely the best episode yet. Had a real in-your-face Star Wars feel to it. From the Mustapha-like saber fight sequence to the corridors in the Republic cruiser to the short space battle. I don't know why everybody focuses so much on the voice acting and mannerisms of the characters, to me what does it is the environment and the action in general.

Can't wait till next week's episode and then ultimately the DVD set. To me this series is kind of like an animated comic book. Great stuff.

Good episode. This is turning out to be quite a good series- at least the first show in a long time that motivates me to tune in every week to see what's going to happen but then again I'm a Star Wars "addict" and usually don't pass up much in terms of Star Wars-related entertainment.

As for the actual story, Gunray's escape was pretty predictable, since we know Gunray isn't in Republic custody by the time of ROTS, but it's always good to see a "darker" episode every now and then where the bad guys win. I didn't realize until posting here that James Marsters did the Senate Commando (cool:techman:). I thought that it was interesting how they snuck in a "anti-harsh interrogation" message during Ashoka's....well...harsh interrogation of Gunray. She seems a lot like Anakin in that she can be very impulsive to the point of recklessness. It almost seems as though she feels like she has to prove herself to somebody. It's frankly a wonder that she hasn't gotten herself killed yet, particularly battling Grievous in "Duel of the Droids". Although, as she proved by saving Luminara, sometimes her impetuousness helps her when it comes to looking out for her comrades but it's unfortunate that her lack of presence while watching Gunray ultimately (probably) cost the Republic the intel that Gunray might have been persuaded to provide but, oh well, the war was totally rigged anyway, so................?

One question about the series in general, how come we haven't seen a lot of Obi-Wan in the series to date? Almost everytime we seem him, it is almost always with him speaking to somebody via hologram but he's not been in more than 1-2 episodes (not counting the "movie") so far.

Well, I think that question was sort of answered within the commentary and extras of the DVD of the movie. This series is intending to not just focus around the select few characters we all know, but to show the stories and adventures of many minor characters within the Star Wars Universe as a whole. We all know the story of Anakin through the feature films, so this series was created to show what else happens around the Star Wars Universe. Quite frankly, how I wish the next Star Trek series would do. Instead of focusing on one starship or space station crew, jump around the universe and show us what else is going on.

I haven't listened to the commentary on the Clone Wars "movie" yet so I wasn't aware of that although it makes sense and, frankly, I'm glad that they're doing it that way since we have already seen so much of Anakin and Obi-Wan in most of the previously released PT material and so little of the rest of the Jedi. For instance, next week, it looks like we will get to see a Mon Cal Jedi who, although doesn't appear to be a main character, represents the fact that the series is definitely trying to branch out from only showing well-established characters.

I did read an interview with Dave Filoni where he said he got a chance to do an episode that focused a little on Obi-Wan's past. That could be very intriguing.

I really wish they'd show more Obi-Wan as he and Yoda are my favorite Jedi. It's just odd because Anakin is the star of 2/3 of the episodes so far yet we never see Obi!
