TOS Actor Signs On To SR:ACM...

K'riq Sa

Commodore
This is a Trekbbs exclusive. I just secured the actor, and very good friend of mine, Mark Robert Brown to play a part in my up coming series Starfleet Rangers:Alpha Colony Mars, one thing i can tell you is he will play a very very bad/good guy. I have not released the name of the part he will play, but it will be a ongoing and reoccuring role, and he will be playing a part that is significant to the story.

Mark has agreed to come out of acting retirement to work on this project, he is currently a much lauded teacher in the LA Uni. he laugh when i asked him to play this part, because he is usually not available because of school commitments, but because it's me, he said he would be more than glad to give it his best shot. he said that he has managed to attend a few cons over the years and says he loves the st fans and are amazed that they still remember who he is...

i will get a current head shot from him and post it later..

He was a kid who did one episode as a bit part. I'm not sure calling him a "TOS Actor" is even appropriate. But then, it IS the one and only role he's ever been credited with.

I'm not sure how to take the "much lauded" comment, as the only information a google search has found on him was from that bit part back in the 60s.

Thanks guys, well ng1701g and dof anyway. just goes to show you, you can't please all the trekkies all the time.

There's a Mark Robert Brown listed for the episode "Christmas Came a Little Early" of Family Affair in 1968. Could be him.

There's "can't pleasing all the trekkies" and then there's unnecessary, uncalled for, and flat-out rude negativity. That's what I saw, so I spoke out against it. I could probably have been more eloquent or persuasive, but history has shown me it would have been futile.

Either way, good luck to you man, more power to you, and please keep up with the updates and ignore the negative ballyhooing from the naysayers.

How would you know? You've never even tried.

With respect, yes. I have.

That still though does not pertain to my previous assessment. Fan films are notoriously difficult to launch, let alone complete. They require near-Herculean effort and dedication to see through, and often depend on the good-will of fellow fans, strangers, and sometimes professionals to produce.

You know this.

You know this because most of the regulars in this forum have reminded you over and over again, over the years, each time you complain because Of Gods And Man isn't available on DVD in wide release, or because Starship Exeter is announcing yet another delay.

Even then, complaining wouldn't be so bad, if it came from a place of constructive criticism, or perhaps genuine disappointment. But it always gets nasty and I am asking why?

Again: there was no call for your negative tone in the beginning of this thread. I apologize for my earlier, nasty (and warned for) remark. It was uncouth. However I would like to know why whenever you show up around here (this forum) it is to complain bitterly?

These productions are free to view. The most work we as viewers have to do is to wait for a production to be released and to click "play" on our media player of choice. That's it. There's no need for such hostility.

You'll not also, once reason and logic are introduced to the thread, he's nowhere to be found, let alone addressing said issues brought to the forefront.

It's a minor (and sometimes not-so-minor) miracle that most of these semiprofessional productions see the light of day at all.

agreed. i have been piecing this thing together for over 3 years now, and i'm still only about half way through pre-production...

man this is rough. and i'm not really even dealing with canon that much...
