In-N-Out. I think they have the best fries! They are more natural and have the perfect texture and flavor, like the fries I have made at home. Other places' fries taste so...plastic.

The only way you can get good fries is to order them without salt and then salt them yourself. At least they are hot and fresh that way.

There's a chain called Five Guys in the DC/MD area, which is fantastic. I have no idea how far they've spread, but I love their burgers and fries.

QFT!!! I don't get the hate for In-n-Out fries. I think they're fantastic.

Their ingredients are so fresh and their milkshakes are phenomenal. They've ruined most other fast food for me, because every place else is warmed over, rubbery and artificial by comparison.

In-n-Out and The Habit (a chain on the central coast of Cali) are the only places where I'll eat burgers. The Habit has a slightly larger menu than In-n-Out and I appreciate that.

Carls Jr. (western states) or Hardee's (eastern states) never tried these places
In-n-Out or this place
Jack 'n the box I've been here for a change of pace when I do get down to the US.

but I voted 'other' so I submit A&W the papa or Grandpa Burger, the new 'Uncle Burger is not too bad either.

and if I get the time Friday I'm going to try the 'FatBuger' near GM place when I go to AC/DC on Friday.

I voted for In n Out because I live in SoCal. There is one walking distance from our house that shares the parking lot with a Chic Fil-A. It is a difficult choice - we sometimes sit in the driveway deciding whether to turn left or right.

All time favorite is White Castle!!! I have their national map memorized and can find the nearest one in ant town where they are located. The ones on the west side of Mineapolis (a frequent destination) are programmed into my Garmin.

Unfortunately, I can't eat fast food as much as I used to because of my cholesterol, but I think Wendy's is the best; I do have a nostalgic fondness for the Burger King chicken sandwich, though.

I'd pick the first four, except for Hardee's. I've never heard of that. I also like Jack in the Box, but they're too expensive. It's costs me $8. there to get the same thing I get at McDonald's for $4.

A little drive-thru place that's no longer open called Go-Go Burger.

Oh, I also miss A&W. They're still open here and there but nowhere around here.

We have a local chain called Johnnie's that makes burgers that taste like the kind you grill over charcoal in your backyard. Those are really good. As far as national chains goes, I like White Castle but we don't have any around here. Maybe that's why I like them, because when I get them its a special treat. Whataburger's probably the best out of the choices I have here out of the big chains.

No preference. I generally don't eat fast food anymore. I gave up driving over five years ago and cook my own food at home. And my own burgers are generally better that what is available to buy. There are times when I am out with either friends or family and they get an urge for some, at which point I will usually just get a cheeseburger but no fries. But it is the person who is driving that picks the place, and that's not me.

My problem with both BK and McD's is that the burgers are never HOT enough! Even if you eat one of their burgers right after you buy it, it's always just a bit cold.

There's a place in Russellville Arkansas that I stop at every time I'm in the area. Feltner's Whatta-Burger. Not to be confused with the national chain, they've got a double meat, double cheese that is incredible. Every burger is cooked to order so it's always hot.

A large fries appears to be about 3 potatoes, I can only get a half-fry and that's almost too much.

And the milkshakes. Did I mention the milkshakes?

Need to check my calendar for my next Arkansas trip.
