The Saga Is Now Complete

That is a great link. I may show it to my daughters teacher. It would be great for the kids.

I ordered Mere Mortals from Borders and it took almost two weeks to get it. Why? Because Borders sent it UPS to the POST OFFICE. It was then delivered to my house. And I got standard shipping so we all nknow who SLOW the post office is. I orderd Gods of Night and Lost souls and other books from simonsays.com and I had them with in a few days.

When I saw that barnes and noble was shipping Lost Souls on Tuesday I went to Amazon and ordered it with over night shipping, hoping I would have it by today.

But it still hasn't shipped :(. At this rate I could have just waited until next week and bought it at the barnes and noble store!

I will have to remember simonsays for next time.

simonsays still shows it pre-order, at least when i looked this am, usualy it ships early so I hope it will be soon.

Ah, I misread your first post. I thought you had said you got Lost Souls within a few days, and that had me incredibly jealous.

Still, I am upset that I paid $25 and still don't have it!

casey, sorry, I just reread my post and I can see why you thought that. What I menat was the other books I ordered from them came in quickly, so i hope Lost Souls will be the same.

I just rechecked simonsays and when you search for David Mack and it shows the three books it shows Lost Souls pre-order but if you click on the title of the book its shows that it ships in 2 or 3 days meaning its in stock. HMMMMMMMMMMM.

dispatcher812, please don't triple post in a thread. When you are the last to post in a thread and have more to say please use the "Edit" button on the previous post instead of posting again -- especially when the posts are that close together.

Thanks

I'm still waiting for the first book to arrive here and the second one is still sitting patiently on my shelf. I'm currently reading non-Trek to take my mind of this, The Chase by Clive Cussler in case anyone is interested.

Yes I read all his Pitt and Numa Files book and thought I'd give The Chase a go. Great books.

^ Another Cussler fan?

:: high five ::

And here, though I think he peaked a few books ago - the run from Cyclops through to about Flood Tide is the cream of the crop - and Black Wind (which I read a few weeks back) was a chore in places.

I actually find that the Cussler/Kemprecos "Kurt Austin" books are a worthy successor to the Dirk Pitt series, and better written too. Haven't tried any of the Oregon books yet, but have some on the pile...

I absolutely, positively fucking hate his personal cameos though - they worked the first time and in Trojan Odyssey as a wrap-up, but not otherwise. It's especially annoying in Sahara and Black Wind

True. When the cameos became important plot points they got excessive. In The Chase there is a cameo of sorts that works. Tried the first Oregon book but couldn't get into it.

Well I guess I will be on the look out for the book now. I'm in the middle of reading an old Enterprise book, so I guess I will have to wait on finishing Destiny. I will let everyone know if I see it. Going to go check in an hour at one of my local Barnes and Nobles. They are usually good about that but I doubt it will be out this week, maybe next thursday.

I was at my Barnes and Noble today and they didn't have it, but I didn't expect them to. I have noticed that they tend to get them the Friday before the release date. They won't be on the shelf yet, but they will go in the back and get it for me.

But, I did notice this on the website for a local book store:
http://kingsenglish.booksense.com/NASApp/store/Product?s=showproduct&isbn=9781416551751

According to this, they ship within 1-5 days. I got excited thinking I could get the book today, but when I called they didn't have any in stock. The lady did say, however, that she remembers selling the book to someone last night and that that must have been the last copy!

I know where I will be going to get my trek books now!

Amazon does now say that the book will ship in 7-11 days. If they don't ship it on monday though I am going to cancel my preorder because I might as well wait until Friday when I can get it at BN.

I can't remember the last time I was this anxious for a book release.

I know the feeling. I checked it out myself. I went to the one that is closet to me and they didnt have it on the shelf yet either. So I put it on order again. The lady had no idea what she was looking at. I asked her if it was the last book. Has to be since it said the 25. So hopefully it will be here sometime next week, probably friday.

I don't like to put books on order at Barnes and Noble though. With Gods of Night I did that.

Then I got impatient and called in again and they brought the book out from the back.

A week later they called to let me know that the book had arrived, which was absolutely ridiculous since I knew that the book arrived in the store a week before.

Hopefully your store is more efficient than mine, otherwise, I would keep checking just to be safe. . .
