I'm dating an older woman!

the reason I started this thread was to ask if anyone had any advice about dating an older woman.
I'm not having any problems with my girlfriend at the moment, so I have no need to use this thread.
Oh, so you were just using us. Thanks.
In fact, things are going great. We are like one. Even somedays we hardly spend any time together, but I still feel a connection in my head to her, like telepathy or a betazoid.
It's called infatuation, you fanchild.
She makes me whole. Sometimes we don't talk at all, just lie there stroking each other or reading books. It is amazing.
I admit I'm a little envious. And anybody who mocks this part is a bitter lonely person.

I won't propose right away, but I'm not going to pretend I haven't thought about!
It's called postcoital stupor. (I didn't say I wasn't bitter at all)

Father's visits, divorce, thoughts of marriage... This season isn't through yet.

^ Thanks, Squiggy.

Or we just know the whole MB story, and as such, we mock anything he says. ;)
I believe he is in earnest, like Don Juan.

By the way,
He means all 179 of them.
Why do you think he's with her? It can't be for the kids.
I take this back.
I think MB's lack of maturity makes him be in this relationship for 4 reasons:
1. Good sex.
2. MB's in love.
3. Being pampered by a mother substitute.
4. Playing with the kids - as another kid.

Nothing wrong with this. :shifty:

Last year I was dating a guy who was 20 years older than me (I was 26)and had a 12 year old son, and I talked him into taking us both to Chuck E Cheese. It was awesome.

I see 4 ways of playing with children when you're an adult (if I break it down to only 4 categories).

1) Genuinely enjoying the game like another child.
2) Obliging them, but treating them like equals (without denying they are children).
3) Obliging them, letting them win, having the "baby talk" attitude.
4) Condescending to play with the child, distractedly.

I consider myself category 2, and I'm calling MB category 1 (only partly in jest).

I think I'm mostly 2, but I do actually enjoy some kids' games. I hate #3...I know it really bothered me when people spoke down to me when I was a kid, so I really try not to do it to them. Plus I'm just really bad at the "baby talk" attitude. I consider it below both me and the kid.

Used to be Showbiz Pizza...when I was really little.

Also, I love your sig. That thread made me laugh til I cried.

Cheers!

Anyway, I had heard of this Chuck E Cheese thing before I think, because it does ring a bell of sorts.... thanks for the link and yes, that quote of Sam's was one of this forum's brighter moments. *grins*

Well, Halloween was nearly a disaster. I lost the boy! He doesn't talk much, so we were going round door to door in silence. A bunch of other kids were at one door and the boy just jumped into the middle of the group. For a moment I was scared that he was kicking them(!) but I didn't hear any cries of pain. I managed to grab him and pull him out of the group and head on to the next door.

At least, I thought it was him.

Turns out there was two boys dresser as Spongebob in this group, mine and another! How could I possibly have expected that? I even felt his sponge to make sure it was REAL sponge (as I ended up using, of course, only the best will do!) and it was. It was only three doors later that this boy turned to me and said "excuse me, why are you following me?" It was a different boy!

Luckily I found mine kicking a fence at the bottom of the street. He just grunted at me and we went on tricker treating. Nothing else bad happened that night, so all in all it was a 100% success.

The girl wasn't much help on the night: she went off with her own friends. Some of them looked like goths so I was worried they were going to do some wiccan ceremony to raise the Devil! Not that I was scared they actually would raise the Devil, I just thought it was a waste of time! She told me she had actually written a play for her friends to perform. I was impressed and told her that my cousin used to write plays and stories and stuff. She said that was cool and said she'd like to meet my cousin! I was worried by this, I don't want my cousin interfering with my life again!

THE COUSIN RETURNS!

And are all the children in your neck of the woods burdened with mental disorders?

Yeah, and what kind of sixty-year-old twentysomething thinks that goth kids might try to raise the devil? All goth kids do is whine and make bad music.

You have lost my approval.

We shall discuss later if, when, and how it can be regained.
