Personally, I interpreted that as meaning those who prefer style and flare over solid functionality, customizability and the ability to be repaired without having to ship it to an apple tech must be "gay."

So everyone who isn't a "tech hound" and enjoys piecing together a computer is gay? Alright. Seems like "techy humor" for guys in the IT department who haven't been laid...ever. But whatever.

Don't get me wrong for posting this^ - I don't mind Mac usrs -heck, I even have one in the family! - They are ok people! -as long as they stay on the meds of course.

The proper analogy would be a standard Gillette razor. It's a heck of a lot easier to use than the straight, and it's more effective than the electric.
Plus the analogy also works because a Gillette is essentially a manual razor just like the straight (as Macs are essentially Unix machines), but it's prettied up to be safer and easier to use.
Whereas your version doesn't have any particular metaphorical applicability I can think of.
