I think its time to change our avatars back.

I've never demanded anyone have a sombrero or not. For as long as I choose, I shall keep my purple-ness and sombrero-ness.
I'm a combat veteran who also survived Hollywood. I'll survive this, too. :vulcan:

Are you freakin' nuts?

We're Star Trek fans. Not ending things prior to a slow death is what we're all about.

I mean, think about it: Beating a dead horse is what we do best. :)

Okay, so maybe sombreros are beginning to suck.

So what?

Voyager sucked and it lasted for 7 whole years! Christ, even though the franchise was technically brain dead and on full life support, they gave us Enterprise and somehow managed to keep it going for 4 additional seasons.

By all rights sombreros deserve to stick around for a couple of years. At the very least, until Trek XI hits theatres. Anything less, and you don't deserve to call yourself a true fan.

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

Beautifully put. And besides, if I remove the sombrero form my av, it'll just be a cheetah wearing Christmas lights, and then how will it be flipping insane?

I feel the tide has turned, so I'm getting out now while we are still on somewhat of a high. There are rumblings of a backlash across the board and as such, I feel that we should all cut back on the sombrero-ness.
 Blasphemy!

No, incidentally, just before I read this thread, I changed my avatar. The new one is promoting the Trek Art Comic Project and doesn't include a single sombrero reference. Maybe you're right. I mean, I still love the whole thing, but I think it ran its course. And that's okay.

But I still insist on at least one CGI sombrero in Star Trek XI. :D

^Oh, you know this forum will sombrero the living crap out of the first Trek XI trailer to be released. You just know it.... *evil laughter*

If Abrams doesn't release a Sombrero version of the trailer...I'm boycotting.

Indeed.
I was planning on wearing a sweeeet sombrero to the Vegas Con and now I'm being told it's not cool any more?????
The fact that a couple of the usual persnicketies complain about the sombrero thing motivates me to keep mine even more.
If we get rid of our somb reros then the terrorists have already won!

Thank God a few of you have some sense and want to stop this nonsense.

It was annoying and profoundly unfunny for all but a handful of people.

I notice you've added a new frame since yesterday, which means I should probably go check out the thread in the Art forum, eh?

You're welcome. We did it just for you.

I've only had my "Phantom of Krankor with Sombrero" avatar for 2 weeks, one week of which I was too busy with real life to even post here...I think I'll keep it for a few more days.

Of course if someone reads this post a few days from now it won't make sense, since I probably would have changed my avatar anyway, such as I normally do every 2 or 3 weeks regardless.
